Before the cream of the Irish comedy crop succumbed to glittering showbiz lifestyles they were faced with the reality of everyday jobs. Teachers, carpenters, McDonalds frontline, tennis coaches... the list goes on. How did these burgeoning comics cope with the 9 to 5? Imagine Karl Spain asking you if you want fries with that, or Colin Murphy giving you detention? Come and hear about when our favourite comedians were just mere mortals, no microphones, no stages, just a polyester uniform and the minimum wage.

Pecha Kucha sounds like a strange thing, but it’s not. Like many great innovations, it hails from Japan, where it was invented to liven up the drudgery of classic office presentations. Each guest speaks on a topic of their choosing for just 20 seconds per slide, a grand total of 400 seconds. 20 x 20. Topics can range from ‘My Family Holiday to Lanzarote 1986’ to ‘How to Fix Ireland’ to Made up Facts about Sharks. No more, no less, no pausing, no back tracking. Come and see comedians talk about their favourite things - fast.

Jack Dee
Simon Amstell – Numb
Cheap Laughs
After a six year absence from stand-up, one of Britain’s finest comedians is back, agonizing over the slightest of annoyances and misdemeanors. Why is he touring again? ‘I want to spend less time with my family’ says Jack. We are thrilled he is making his Cat Laughs debut. Two shows only. It’ll be a real treat.
The award-winning comedian, actor, screenwriter and presenter returns to Kilkenny with his new show. Intensely vulnerable and painfully honest, Amstell attempts again to heal himself in public. Tickets to his Cat Laughs shows in 2010 sold out in milliseconds. Two shows only. Be quick!
Here’s a few cheeky ways you can save when getting your tickets for the Cat Laughs.
