THE RESCUE EQUIPMENT IS IN PLACE For more than 15 years, we have supplied rescue and evacuation equipment to the wind power industry. During that period we have obtained great experience in the safety challenges that are present inside and outside a turbine. It is essential to keep the necessary equipment ready for use and the staff properly trained for handling different emergency situations that can occur.
Among the problems in keeping the equipment fit for use when stored in a turbine are: • Corrosion, because of condensed water caused by shifts in temperature (heat/cold) • Wear on all parts due to vibration
RESCUE & EVACUATION 04
A SOLUTION BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Based on annual tests and many years of experience, we have developed the patented vacuum packing solution. This solution guarantees that moisture and water from condensation cannot occur as there is no air in the bag, and that wear from vibrating components rubbing together is almost impossible because by vacuum packing the equipment the parts are prevented from moving against each other.
10 YEARS INSPECTION INTERVAL.
As an extra benefit, our tests and experience shows that by vacuum packing the mean time between inspection is at least 10 years. Since vacuum packing is unique and patented, there is no comparable solution on the market that can guarantee the same level of quality on the packed components.

1.
The TwinStop sliding lock works in the same manner as the MonoStop model, even if the velocity increases, according to the following principle: Position 1: The velocity activated locking wheel runs along the bottom of the rail. The brake block, connected to the locking wheel, is inside the housing.
2.
3.
LADDER SYSTEMS Horizontal or vertical systems: we're very experienced in both. We adapt the equipment according to specific needs and the particular environment in which it's to be used.
14
Position 2: When the velocity activated locking wheel runs over a hack the brake block depresses against the bottom of the rail. Once the locking wheel has passed the hack the brake block springs back into the housing. Position 3: In the event of an unintentional high velocity fall the brake block will not have time to spring back into the housing, but fastens at the hack in the rail, arresting the fall. The spring activated locking mechanism simultaneously forces the brake block into the rail hacks as for the MonoStop. Cresto TwinStop is supplied with a aluminium twistlock carabiner.
CRESTO'S VERTICAL RAIL AND LADDER SYSTEM Our vertical fall protection rails are suitable for installation in existing ladders everywhere in a fall risk environment. The easiest and safest way of climbingmasts and towers is when the sliding lock is connected to the rail. If there's no ladder we offer a fall protection ladder where the rungs are integrated in the rail. We have a range of fastenings and can customize the systems to meet your exact requirements. The rails can be angled so that the systems follow facade curvatures, or to allow the system to continue in a horizontal direction, for example, up on the roof. The fixing point distance is a maximum of 2.1 m. between the fixing points on the vertical rail and 1.0 m. on the horizontal rail. You can either perform the installation yourself using our installation guide, or let us do it for you. The aluminium rails are manufactured in saltwater resistant extruded material and are anodised for the best possible corrosion protection. Alternatives to aluminium are either hot dip galvanised or stainless steel rails.

We'll be happy to suggest different installation solutions for your needs. Please contact us for further information! EN 795, EN 353-1

OSCAR™
For extreme circumstances. SOMEBODY HAS TO DO IT
It’s easy to understand that working on offshore turbines holds many risks, and until now it has been accepted to get on and off the TP (transition piece) without any safety.
DON´T RISK YOUR LIFE
The dangers become very real in the transition between service vessel and TP. Going overboard, falling off the ladder, or even being injured between the vessel and the TP, is only one step away. Don’t accept that anymore !
OUR SOLUTION - YOUR SAFETY
You are the focus of your own safety and we can connect you to OSCAR™! Together with major off shore operators, our engineers started the development of an Off Shore Climbing Assistant Retractable unit, thereby creating the name OSCAR™. By the way, OSCAR™ also translates into the words Out Standing Care And Rescue! Immediately after docking the service vessel with the TP, you can now retrieve the yellow pulling line and thereby pull the fall arrest wire down to the stern of the vessel. Since OSCAR™ is mounted on the very top of the TP, it is now possible to connect and secure the individuals going up the ladder. Please note: this means being secured before leaving the vessel and all the way up to the platform. Furthermore, this simple but crucial solution works just as efficiently and safely when returning to the service vessel. Ordinary fall arresters operate with a breaking distance up to max. 1.7 metres. EN360:2002 demands the arresting distance to be max. 1.7 metres, but with the risk of entrapment between the vessel and the TP, this is just not good enough. You need a fast and yet gentle fall arrester. OSCAR™ will arrest you within a stunning 0.7 metres at the most and still the maximum force on your body won’t exceed 4.4 kN.
COST EFFECIENCY
We developed OSCAR™ to make the high risk operations going to or from off shore turbines as safe as possible. We have a simple solution to a complicated problem. By using OSCAR™, you avoid the need of different special constructions. Since it´s a unique and patented product, there´s nothing comparable on the market. Our goal is simple : -Every off shore turbine should be fitted with OSCAR™ to make safety and cost efficiency work together.

ACC
Work more effectively and ergonomically using ActSafe PME - save time and money!
With this new battery driven power ascender a user can transport himself and his equipment along a static kernmantle rope (EN 1891 compliant). Just like a personal elevator.
A VERSATILE POWER ASCENDER CRESTO is the power ascender distributor for Sweden and Denmark. Power ascenders are finding more and more areas of application. Today, more than 10 years after their introduction, they can be found in use with rescue services, telecommunications construction, windpower, hydro-electric power, electricity supply, the police and military. Using this methodology one only needs to descend when setting up the anchor lanyard. The benefits include timesaving and avoiding climbing using ladders (i.e. better ergonomics).
