DESIGN STORY Since ancient times, East Lake has moistened the lives along the lake, let them grow naturally, which bred the civilization, bringing the vigor for the development of reproducing and updating. Our design began from the wings of imagination. The creative concepts, as nature brings the river transitory ripples, kissing the distant buildings and arousing waves with the dance of life. The green space into four sequences. The main landscape was made by the eastern static landscape experience area, the earth art experience area, the sports center building and the dynamic scene, at the same time, combining by jogging, cycling, roller skating to make the slow motion space, creating the rich experience waterfront space. On hardscape design, we paid much attention to the embodiment of the humanities and the participation of the people, with the sound of the design of the device, stimulating the exchange of the public, the history, nature, and with the unique experience form, inserting the special characters different from the surrounding. Slow waterfront activity space intervention, provides daily leisure fitness sites for people, improves the efficiency of daily use and service for citizens.

The site location is close to the stadium of UNIVERSIADE 2011 SHENZHEN, and once it was the factories of fashion, hardware and lamp coating with dormitories before. The design focus on Three E (which are Ecological, Energy and Efficiency), combining with the existing roads and surrounding green lands, the design brings the culture and green elements back in sharp and clean style. The landscape design of the main entrance activity area mainly is used as the landmark and the guidance, with the colorful leaves and flower tree as the main entrance landmark for connecting Phase 1 and Phase 2, the liner pavement is used as the guidance on the ground. In this project, I was working as a team leader and woking with the staffs in Italian branch, making the decision of design direction and strategies with the design director. And also, working on the master plan and renderings and report package.

Redensification

Squares

Markers/ Landmarkds They are positioned in strategical places of the site. These encode the space as a new reference point for whole urban surrounding and increase the new identity of the place.

12

In the first step of converting of a site, they will work as the places which strength the identity of the place and where new users can feel and touch a collective approach to the site sharing the experience of Art and Culture.

During the process buildings will be heightened and transformed slightly. In the last phase of the revitalization, the neighbourhood will specifically recompress in selected areas.

New Uses/New Users Now the site is a monofunction factory oriented place. The converting in the arts and industrial design compound and implementation of cultural features, shopping facilities, leisure time activities and entertainment offers enable living and staying in ECO boxes city.

Appropriation Green Potential brownfield sites are positioned as the initial place of transformation through the reconverting of impervious surfaces and hardscapes. The functions as small gardens, playground, urban forests etc, support still life of new city users and increase the visibility of new impulses in the district.

Xi'an is a city with deep culture and history, the design starts with considering "what's the city's new direction" when the commercial and activity meets the long history. Base on the traditional format planning, we introduce a corridor and bring the new dimension and potential to the site. From organize the space with efficiency program and show the long history elements in the detail, nature, leisure and quality community space is completed. Traditional planning Traditional and existing planning of Xi'an plaza are based on old Xi'an city grid, space and the function about equality and symmetry.

Function separated The north part along the residential area is designed as neighborhood daily activity space whilst the south side which links to the admin center is designed to be a green space which is possible to be a nature buffer and an enclosed space as Qinling mountain.

New activities create new pattern The introduction of the commercial corridor creates New activity and bring the new dimension and potential to the site. When the new meet the ancient, and block is distorted to the organic shape. A timeline reveals history hidden under the ground and tell the visitors an attractive story.

Longkou, Shandong, China 2010.11 50 ha Shandong Government Project Manager/ Strategic Analysis/ Rendering/ Handmade modle/ Ecosystem Strategy/

Longkou artificial island, which is in the Bohai Bay and to the east of "Jing-Jing-Tang" industry district abounds in gifts of nature and transport. Overall planning idea is from a mirage concepts to creating unique longkou artificial islands building style.Overall planning structure is made by one area, three axis, and seven islands.

One Area refers to the seaside beach recreation belt. Three axes refer to the artificial islands and longkou transversely connecting the expressway, red service axis, green culture shaft and blue business life axis. Seven islands refer to the No. 1 yacht holiday island, No. 2 leisure culture island, No. 3 medical fitness island, No.4 service industry island, No.5 administrative office island, No. 6 livable life island and No. 7 landmark hotel island.

In this project, the tidal, sea breeze and waste energy are promoted to create a completely sustainable system which could provide service for the island, and if there is extra energy, it also could be sold to the adjacent area for the benefit. The project is an competition of architecture and landscape planning, and Italian branch is invited to join and provide help for the architecture part. Finally, it's a win.

This project will explore how to create the primary hub of student activity for the southern half of the BCIT main campus in Burnaby. This hub is made up of two contiguous spaces, a corridor and a plaza, that represent one of the most heavily trafficked pedestrian spaces on campus. Space is flanked by the Main Library, the Student Athletic Centre, The Learning and Teaching Centre and the largest surface parking lot on campus. This space has the potential to be an important social core of the campus and its design could be the next critical step in shaping BCIT's future. This comprehensive studio is for the second semester from February to April. The sketches below are the processing product for the first review. The following work would focus on the development design base on this concept and construction design and drawing.

EXISTING ROAD

SCHOOL BUILDING

The existing campus planning creates one green axis and one blue axis, which request to be enhanced in the further development. The design creates a corridor which green and blue could meet, and combine with the level transition and terrace to form an open area which the green axis could be enhanced.

The level transition of the green axis brings an opportunity to diverse the experience. And enlarge the steps and combine with sitting area to bring an outdoor study amphitheater area.

Location Surray City Central Station, Vancouver Date January 5 - February 8, 2016 Project type Comprehensive Studio 1 The PARKit Design Challenge provides students in the studio an opportunity to create a temporary space that will be a hub for gathering in Surreyís rapidly growing City Centre. Design Challenge teams will participate by designing the outdoor site with a focus on reuse, using recycled and reused materials and innovative construction methods. Design teams will record and submit their process along with their final designs, and the selected design team will be awarded a $15,000 contract to construct and install their design. Our team won the project with the design 'Polka dot' It is proposed as an outdoor stage that imitates the character of traditional area theatre on a small scale. The design is based on the íPolka dotí idea and uses different dot-sized fixed infrastructure and several small dynamic pieces. The site is framed by the hard columns, the noisy streets and the Skytrain on the top. The design brings the dots into the site to soften the conflicts between different shapes. Space enables people to enjoy the music and use the infrastructure in dynamic ways.
