This could have been a long copy about how deep our concept was thought through and how hard it was to accomplish our goals but as a matter of fact everything came easy and was driven by a freestyle vibe, just like when you’re out there riding

But let’s start at the beginning. After more than a decade of Slash by Gigi board collections with hundreds of board designs, thousands of drafts, dozens of artist collaborations and endless meetings to get the best possible designs on our beloved snowboards, we wanted to mix things up a little and spill some creativeness outside the box. We wanted to get stoked by working with our hands and putting screens to one side to make some original artwork and one-off specials. So naturally we took over the abandoned apartment next to our design studio in Innsbruck, grabbed a couple of wood cores Gigi droped off, picked up some buckets of paint at our favourite art supply store and used what we had on hand to create an abstract freestyle driven board lineup for Fall 2023.

Freestyle is what makes snowboarding so much fun and gives us the opportunity to express ourselves in so many ways. The natural terrain, the snow conditions, the board and we as the rider play together as one, even when some of our excitement is made by accident and can’t be recreated.

Inspired by thoughts like this, we poured the first bucked of paint on the wall and took it from there.

TRUE-TWINNED FREESTYLE CAMBER

Some park riders just prefer the feel of camber underfoot. Rated 5/10 on the stiffness scale and our Carbonbon layup of carbon fibre stringers charges your ollies fantastically. Rubber dampeners help absorb impact and also protect the sidewalls from whatever you may sling this thing into.

CAMROCKERED PLAYFUL PARK STICK

Our cam-rockered freestyle board The Happy Place has earned itself a fine reputation as a truly universal and accessible board. Last year we lowered the starting height by 13cm to 135cm to further emphasise the Happy Place as a truly unisex, multi-generational board.

Its progressive sidecut combines many radii and smooth contact points for a smooth and buttery ride. Camber between the feet and carbon stringers give you that amazing pop of camber while retaining the forgiveness of rockered tips.

CAMROCKERED FREESTYLE

A directional twin shape built to take on the whole mountain. We’ve set the Brainstorm back and raised the nose with Camrock for ease of manoeuvrability in deeper snow.

Our Landing Strip tech lays strips of Kevlar and carbon fibre from the inserts to the tips in the nose and tail to support landings and reduce washouts. These strips also dampen high-speed chatter, offer stability at speed and pump up your ollies.

BEST ALL MTN BOARD ON THE PLANET

Widely regarded as the best All Mountain Freestyle board on the market, the ATV is entering its second season with its new 3D nose and tail.

A directional twin with a singular sidecut means this board is perfect for charging the whole mountain; whether riding powder, charging pistes or hitting send in the park.

The 3D nose and tail give better butterability and encourage snow to pass easily, making for a better powder device.

The deep singular sidecut provides predictability and reactive camber allows you to hyperload your ollies. A newly beefed-up width removes fear of toe and heel drag and made with best-in-class materials, this is the jewel in our line.

TURN CONNOISSEUR

The Vertical is a hard charger’s best friend on bottomless pillow lines while also capable of laying out thick, juicy carves into corduroyed pistes too.

Its 3D nose floats the Vertical through powder with ease and there are our Float Inserts to let you set back when it’s extra deep.

A tapered tail eases powder steering and a fully cambered profile combined with our Buried Treasure trio of carbon, Kevlar and basalt fibres means you’ll get plenty of response too.

BACKCOUNTRY GUN

Our directional hog – The Straight – grunts into action with positive camber extending under both feet to the tip and tail where the nose lifts higher than the tail, enabling float mode in the deep stuff. Dialled in at 6/10 on the stiffness rating means this is one of our sturdier boards, built for going fast. And hard!

Featuring our Ultimate Traction feature, we’ve placed a small counter radius bump in the middle of the board’s sidecut to add extra bite on ice and turns regular turns into confident carves. Featuring strips of Kevlar and carbon fibre reinforces torsional performance and provides stability at speed, reduces chatter and gives control when landing bigger hits.

POWDER HOUND

Our most radically shaped board, the Portal is built to float in powder and rally through carves. The spooned nose resembles a boat’s hull, a snow plough… designed to cut through and float atop powder.

Its tapered swallow tail acts as the perfect counterbalance to the large nose, enabling controlled manoeuvrability from the back foot.

An extra set of Float Inserts mean when it’s extra deep, you’ve got an ace in your pocket… set back, dig deep and SLASH hard!

EARN THE DROP

The original splitboard in our line, The Brainstorm Split delivers a split version of our backcountry freestyle solid, The Brainstorm.

Implementing the solid’s backseat Camrock engages floaty freestyle with its juiced up carbon fibre, Kevlar and basalt stringers. Our ice slicing Traction Bump edges work twofold, giving ultimate grip through turns and also bites hard on the split up.

Our Forever Core comprises paulownia, spruce, beech and poplar and is responsive, lightweight and über powerful.

VERTICAL SPLIT

TECH PACKED SPLIT FOR HARD CHARGING

The Split version of our solid board dubbed the ‘Turn Connosieur’, the Vertical Split has two tip-to-tail Landing Strips of carbon fibre and Kevlar additives for power and stability whether the board is split or solid.

Its ice-slicing Traction Bump and S-Line touring edges down the middle of the board provide shear force when put together and add bite to all four edges, even on sketchy traverses.

Built using locally grown supplies of poplar wood and beech hardwood stringers makes it lightweight and powerful too.

PLAYFUL, FUN SHRED

Our Slash Splash squadron has grown legs over the past few seasons, with many young shredders opting for our tried and tested combo of twin-shape and soft, simple flex. Nothing’s worse than catching an edge, and when learning it can be savage enough to make a young punk reach for the skis.

Not with Slash… we’ve got rockered tips to minimise edge catch and Gigi’s workshopped this extensively with his lads, Jona & Oskar.

While we take great pride in crafting our boards and monitoring each one, small imperfections might slip out of the factory. Recognizing this, Slash backs all of its boards with a two-year warranty against any material and manufacturing defects.

B 1 CAMBER A tried and true camber profile that offers a precise feel, predictable turns, solid edge hold, suspension and powerful pop. Traditional camber distributes weight evenly and offers a progressive flex pattern.

B 2 CAMROCK CamRock features a loaded camber section between the feet with a small flat section underfoot and rockered tips. The camber section maintains stability between the feet, while the flat areas underfoot let you load up ollies and the rockered tips offer forgiveness. This creates a very playful, easy turning board.

B 3 BACKSEAT CAMROCK The Backseat CamRock design places rocker in the nose and a slight amount in the tail with positive camber in between. This setback design delivers camber stability and control between the feet and in the tail, with the added float and manoeuvrability of the rockered nose.

C 1 FOREVER WOODCORE Constructed from four different lightweight wood species—paulownia, spruce, beech and poplar—for a premium core that offers a highly tuned and dynamic feel. It’s flyweight, durable, filled with pop and highly reactive.

C 2 POP WOODCORE Arranged with premium strips of poplar for a lightweight and smooth flex with added beech hardwood stringers tip to tail through the inserts for power transfer and durability.

C 3 LIGHTWEIGHT WOODCORE Crafted with light density paulownia for lightness, poplar for responsiveness and hardwood beech stringers along the edges to increase core durability, pop and protection from edge impacts.

D 1 TRI-AX FIBERGLASS Triax fiberglass is the time-tested classic. It features a three-way weave of premium fibers with strands running at 45-degree angles. It provides superior pop, consistent torsional flex, and more overall response.

D 2 BIAX FIBERGLASS Biax fiberglass is a two-way weave of fiberglass with strands running every 90-degrees. It’s more forgiving, easier to flex and highly versatile for all terrain types.

E 1 BURIED TREASURE This is our ultimate truss of carbon, Kevlar and basalt fibers. The effect is lightness because the connecting strength of fiber allows us to slim the core’s thickness. With our strategic placement this gives certain liveliness to the board by adding response to the tips and leaving torsional softness between the feet.

E 2 CARBONBON Two carbon fiber stringers stretching outward from the inserts to the contact points in both the tip and the tail. Like prongs sticking outward these additives feel out rough terrain, promote pop, generate stronger edge hold and create a more playful ride.

E 3 LANDING STRIP Strips of Kevlar and carbon fiber placed from the inserts to the tips in the nose and tail to support landings and reduce washouts. This design also helps dampen high-speed chatter, offer stability at speed and load up potent ollies.

F 1 PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT Our progressive sidecut design blends many radii and smooth contact points for buttery smooth turn initiation, edge-toedge transition and edge hold. It’s different for each model and matches the sidecut to the board’s specific camber profile.

F 2 SINGULAR SIDECUT A predictable and powerful sidecut with a single radius that makes for consistent turns. It’s ideal for intermediate and advanced riders who already know how to carve a turn, like to ride fast, and desire strong edge hold.

G 1 SINTERED BASE Our Sintered quality base is fast, durable and requires less waxing. We believe in using the best possible materials in our boards.

I 8 TAPERED SHAPE The width of the nose is greater than the tail width. Tapered directional shape is usually designed to provide the best float in powder – promoting the tail to sink and the nose to rise. I 9 3D LIFT Now in its 3rd year for the Vertical and debuting in the 22/23 ATV, 3D lift pulls the tip (and tail) of the board away from the snow. Heavier scoop in the Vertical’s nose for extra float and now more subtly in the ATV’s tip & tail, akin to a dog’s ears, it provides more butterability and extra float.
