PARK ON THE BANKS OF THE SEINE competition
Park is situated in a new housing area along the Seine, on the last brownfield of Juvisy and Athis-Mons, in the Zone d’aménagement concerté. Lawned and planted, this 12,000 m² park reinforces connection between the city and the river that runs alongside. Project seeks to repair interaction between urban environment and habitat of the river banks, and it operates on four components of the place: - ground and leveling, - water management, - biotopes and associated habitats, - allocation of uses and user comfort. My tasks, as an intern, included field survey, technical drawings of the plan view and sections, 3d modelling, analysis of uses within the park and diagrams of social practices.

Project is supposed to be implemented in 3 phases. In the first phase a provisional basin for the storm water is to be constructed, residential areas are to be landscaped and the central part of the park should be filled with the excavated soil from the provisional basin. The second phase of work complements the development of the Central Park. The last phase includes final development of the whole area.

BLUEBERRY FARM IN VELIKA IVANCA NEAR BELGRADE developement strategy and master plan
The master plan for the private estate in the countryside was drafted in stages due to gradual expansion of the property boundaries. Modifications have been made in order to ensure the optimal spatial organisation for all property owners. In all proposed solutions, housing is located in the highest area with a view of the surrounding landscape. In the third and the last version of the plan houses are located in the most secluded area, VARIJANTA surrounded with1 forest.
Blueberry fields, which are the economic cornerstone of the future households, cover at least 4ha of land. Road infrastructure, storage buildings and a water basin are supposed to support sustainable blueberry production. Since the estate is a permanent residence of the land owners, the landscape design of the residential area is very important, especially a connection with the water body and the conception of a bio pool, a natural lake with a VARIJANTAsystem 2 self-cleaning of biological filters and plants.

PARKING SPACE ACTIVATION IN GRENOBLE student project / development strategy
Selected site is an old one-storey residential building in Berriat neighborhood in Grenoble, with garages on the ground floor, cut through with a passage, on one side leaning against a multi-storey residential building and on another against a parking space. In this project I recognised the potential of this building to become a landmark in the neighborhood, as it creates a specific ambient, especially in the context of the surrounding recent housing projects. In broad terms, this project supports flexible, temporary and improvised use of open parking space and conversion of the garage spaces on the ground floor of the building to commercial / art / cultural / craft use. The main purpose of the proposal is to give ideas to local residents of alternative uses of the parking spaces and to initiate local action. Proposed activities are to be approved or discarded by inhabitants in the upcoming participatory workshops (that would ideally take place before each implementation phase). Interventions are to be implemented in phases. The project is supposed to test the need for more public space and activities in the neighborhood as an alternative to car parkings and garages.

Urban design proposal for activation of parking space in Berriat neighborhood in Grenoble I 2500 m2 I January 2013
There are considerable open green spaces in the neighborhood. Many of them have been designed and implemented within the frame of recent redevelopments in the area.
However, many of the green spaces have limited access, they are either private or semi-private in their character, and when public – they are usually closed after certain hour. Some passages have lost their purpose of connecting spaces and are closed.
Recent redevelopment of the neighborhood have introduced higher quality of construction but have caused some negative impact on the neighborhood, such as “blind ground levels, disregard of the street fronts, and disconnection of open public spaces. Still, several old buildings have a good construction and maintenance quality.
This is principally a residential area. Commercial activities are placed along the small streets. There are many parking spaces and garages. There is a lack of cultural/specific commercial activities / services in the close proximity of the selected area.

PARKING SPACE ACTIVATION IN GRENOBLE student project / development strategy
I identified four different ambiences in the area on the basis of subjective feelings and perceptions, where I examined distances (Jan Gehl, “Cities for People”), barriers, passages, views, and hidden versus revealed spaces. All analyzed features will further influence definition of use for each of these spaces. Activities proposed in the phase 1 have role to initiate action, to create feeling of movement and expectation that “something is going to happen” in this place, to make people curious, to offer an alternative to “dead” parking space, to draw attention to the building that might be perceived as a heritage of the neighborhood, etc. Having passed phase 1 successfully, in the phase 2 some parts of the parking should permanently change their use into public space. The building should interact with the open space through a vivid urban space of the existing passage. In the last phase the connection with other parts of the neighborhood is to be improved, especially with the main arterial roads.

SILVER LAKE RESORT competition
Our vision for development of tourism in the area of Silver Lake is to create a unique visitor center on the banks of the Danube in form of an ethno-village with traditional craft centers and workshops. Ethnological and historical motives of Serbian culture are to be interwoven into educational, cultural and artistic character of the planned settlement. Landscape design is addressing concept of “traditional” through pavement patterns (e.g. carpet motif appears in the main square design) and use of native vegetation.
A church with a small square in front is shifted from the main axis to maintain certain secluded atmosphere but is still well connected with the main promenade. This square links the main promenade along the waterfront with the central “Square of Crafts”.

Conceptual design of the residential tourist complex on Silver Lake in Serbia I 35000 m2 I team Cepic, Stevanovic I January 2010
“Square of Crafts” is located centrally in the complex. Around the square there are workshops, cafes and shops on the groundfloor level with apartments on upper floors.
Free standing houses with individual access streets.
“Square of Crafts“ is a central space delineated by onestorey buildings with manufacturing and sales facilities on ground floors and apartments on upper floors. There is a market near the church, in extension of the “Square of Crafts”.
In terms of architecture we pursued a simple and modern shapes, using cube as a basic element. Form of the house follows morphology of the terrain and gradually extends over it. We combined wood with glass and concrete to achieve harmoniuos relation between “traditional” and “modern”.

Area is divided into 3 main functional zones with dominant cultural, arts and sport infrastructure. Zoning has derived from specific linear form of the available waterside. Main motif of the entrance zone is a `mirror path` following the east - west axis with the mirror sculptures at its both ends. The idea is to use mirrors to emphasise the sunset experience.
Front access of this zone is planned as a peaceful area with places to sit and rest. Open spaces surrounded with forest-like massives are to create balance of shaded/ exposed and open/closed spaces. View towards the water is preserved and highlighted by leaving openings framed with trees next to the waterfront.

Zone of art and leisure has a central spacious grass area that is to become a setting for various artistic and cultural performances such as exhibitions, outdoor theater plays, different cultural events. During winter this space can be transformed into an ice rink. These activities are complemented by multifunctional character of the outlined buildings (cafe/gallery/restaurant). Path extending over the water is supposed to enhance the overall experience and become an attractive viewpoint.

LEED CERTIFIED COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPE IN BELGRADE planting design and construction project
Two different scales are applied in the design of open space. The public space situated along the boulevard is a transit area that is mainly to be seen from cars and public transport vehicles and by pedestrians. For this reason, the level of detail is low and we designed large groups of unified shrubs and ornamental grasses. On the other hand, plant containers within the private area in front of the commercial center require a higher level of detail. In order to attract users to slow down and spend time, the diversity of plants is high. combination of ornamental grasses, Santolina, Helychrisum, etc.

Based on the LEED standards of water efficiency, the selection of plants was limited to those with very low water requirements such as Lavandula, Rosmarinus, Santolina, Helychrisum, Teucrium, Sedum, etc. The combination of plants was made based on their colour, height and texture. In this way we combined perennials and shrubs of similar or complementing characteristics and created a wave-like pattern in the landscape.

FAMILY GARDEN IN GROCKA NEAR BELGRADE conceptual and construction project
Design concept for а family garden in Grocka, near Belgrade, overlooking the Danube to the North. Aim was to highlight existing qualities of the site, principally the extraordinary view of the river. We acomplished this by leaving the opening in the north part of the garden and designing a wave-like bench at the viewpoint. Furthermore, we experimented with pattern in pavement. We also paid special attention to “open” and “close” spaces defined by vegetation.

ENTRANCE TO A MIXED - USE BUILDING design and realisation
Simple and minimalist design of the limited container like space of around 8 m2 in size. Specific site conditions such as partial to heavy shade and minimal depth of soil have determined the use of plants resistant to such conditions: Hedera helix and Buxus sempervirens (topiary form).
We used mulch to cover the soil in order to enhance visual appeal of the space, to conserve moisture, to improve fertility of the soil and to reduce weed growth.

GUNDULICEV VENAC SQUARE IN BELGRADE conceptual and construction project
Several key issues identified in the existing state of the square are poor maintenance, safety problems, vandalism, busy street facing the square and lots of parking spaces. The way to tackle these issues is to provide more sitting spaces, re-design urban furniture, create “green buffers towards the busiest street, improve illumination but most importantly - to give identity to the space using a distinct design in order to create a sense of belonging for the local inhabitants. Different ambients are created through a specific broken - line shape of sitting walls and pathways. The selected vegetation is relatively tolerant to air pollution and does not require high maintenance (Acer campestre, Koelreuteria paniculata, Abies concolor, Spirea sp, Ligustrum sp.). Concrete tiles are used as paving material.

KOPITAREVA GRADINA SQUARE IN BELGRADE conceptual and construction project
Kopitareva Gradina is a historically and architecturally valuable urban neighborhood in Belgrade, with classicist and secessionist style houses from the beginning of the 20th century surrounding the square. Considering its architectural significance, proposed design draws attention to the historical identity of the neighborhood and discretely reminds us of the Secession. The linear central part of the square “opens up the area with colours and floral ornaments in the pavement. Sitting walls in some places follow the form of paved surfaces. Paved surfaces are constructed of printed concrete.

AVENUE DE LA PORTE DE CLICHY IN PARIS competition
B
Situated in the north of Paris, Avenue de la Porte de Clichy constitutes an important access line to the capital both in terms of frequency and intensity of its use and of the urban role and great ambition assigned to it. The redevelopement project of the avenue included a conceptual design of the public space in front of the future Palace of Justice, between the ring road (périphérique) and the junction with the Rue Cardinet. The project is aimed at recreating the avenue as a pleasant passage through the city, shaded, comfortable and quiet. The public space of the avenue is designed as a natural extension and a counterpoint of the square in front of the future Palace of Justice. The avenue metaphorically represents a river, a delta, which opens continuously to the périphérique and emphasizes connection between inside and outside of the city. The lighting under the périphérique is to ensure and highlight this linkage. My contribution to the project included technical drawings of the plan view and sections, and composition and layout of the presentation panels.
