The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a little over 2-months-old and it looks quite a lot like its predecessor, the Galaxy S4. That still doesn’t take away from the fact that it is the smartphone to have this summer. You’ll need a trusty sidekick by your side to share and help capture the months to come! The S5 has a 5.1 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, placing it right between the S4 and Note 3, with regards to overall size and weight. It’s constructed almost entirely out of plastic and the only other big change with regards to visuals is the dimple effect back panel, which was added presumably to aid grip.

Home button, and a heart rate monitor on the back just under the camera port. How many people will really use those features? No idea. The handset is also water and dust resistant. It has an IP67 (Ingress Protection) rating which certifies the S5 to resist water when submerged at depths of up to one meter for 30 minutes. But Samsung has maintained a lead in the Android space for several years now, and there’s a reason for this - the overall experience is consistent and rewarding for users. Has Samsung managed to maintain this winning combination with the Galaxy S5?

On the inside you have plenty of new technology and sensors. There’s a fingerprint scanner located inside the

The 2014 FIFA World Cup has almost lost all its attendees, with 32 teams quickly whittled down to just 2. The group stages, round of 16, quarters and semis have been through with, and the wait is on for the grand finale.

soon-to-be out-of-contract 29-year-old has picked the perfect time to shine, with his defiant heroics against Brazil sure to line up potential suitors.

This World Cup has been labelled as the ‘tournament of the underdogs’, but the incredible performances we have seen from the underdogs could not have come without the performances of their goalkeepers. In a tournament blessed with highscoring matches, the custodians have become the unlikely cult heroes of this World Cup. Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa led the charge. The

Others who captured the imagination at the World Cup is Nigeria’s goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Algeria keeper Rais M’Bolhi. USA goalkeeper Tim Howard made the most saves ever in a World Cup match (16), but still ended up on the losing side.

The four are included in a ‘Best Goalkeeper of The World Cup’ poll making the rounds on the internet. Who would’ve thought that tiny Costa Rica, a nation of four and a half million people would make it through the Group of Death into the last eight? Surely the heights that Los Ticos reached weren’t in the script. The ripple effect caused by one such ‘small fry’ team displaying determination against their Goliath opponents then inspires others to do the same, resulting in the spectacle we’ve seen unfold before us. Previously, teams that weren’t normally expected to win games would set themselves up to defend, allowing their opponents more time on the ball and therefore plenty of time to control the game. Instead these teams attacked at will, going toe-to-toe with the Goliaths, forcing them to do more defending, re-organising and transitioning themselves from defence to attack - resources that would’ve otherwise been used going forward. This in turn gave the favourites less time to attack and dominate, putting themselves under pressure and committing errors which allow the underdogs back into the game. BRAZIL 2014 MAY HAVE FOREVER CHANGED THE MANNER IN WHICH FIFA WORLD CUPS PAN OUT IN THE FUTURE BECAUSE OF THE INCREASED AMOUNT OF QUALITY BROUGHT BY TEAMS OUTSIDE EUROPE.

Y’all saw the massive crowd turned out in Half-Way Tree to march against buggery? That’s the largest crowd I think Half-Way Tree’s ever seen! Mek Downtown look like dem nah try! Was it necessary or not? To each his own. Still can’t believe what happened on Queen’s Hill, WTF, but let’s just leave it at that…for now.

EASE OUT!

Big sides get ease out by not so big sides. That’s the World Cup for ya! Heartbreak for some fans, joy for others. And pain for one player courtesy of Suarez. Sure football’s a physical game, but WTF was all that?

be arrested if found with up to 2 ounces of ganja. Anyone ticketed will be given 30 days to pay the fine. If not paid, it becomes a minor offense, resulting in court-ordered community service. Suh mek sure yuh have exactly 2.0 ounce Rasta! Speaking of laws, the new traffic fine dem set a way! Everything up by almost 300 per cent…WTF! Start tek time drive, drive properly, or stay a yuh yaad!

“Opa!” is a Greek expression of celebration. Similar to what Jamaicans do with their colourful jargon, Greeks yell, “Opa!” For example, when they’re happy, when somebody trips and fall, they say, “Opa!” meaning like, “Are you okay?” Opa! is also the hottest new restaurant in town. SLEEK caught up with proprietor Alexx Antaeus for a quick chat, and bite. When you opened Opa!, your first restaurant in Jamaica, what were you expecting? I was expecting exactly what is happening. For both Jamaicans and expats to appreciate a place that would give them authentic Greek food, cooked fresh daily and an environment that would be fun to come to. Not just great food, not just superb service, but a great place to have fun and celebrate life. Having worked in various countries, how would you say the approach to food is different in Jamaica? The difficulty with an ethnic restaurant in Jamaica is that a lot of the ingredients needed are not available here. Therefore you either have to bring them from the States or improvise. It’s not easy. For example, we have Greek wines and beer. Nobody has or imports that in Jamaica. Therefore I have to do my own importing. I don’t like importing, or dealing with customs. However I have to, I couldn’t imagine having a Greek restaurant without offering Greek wines or beer.

What food item are you most excited about? When I initially opened I thought lamb, which Greeks eat a lot of, would be a number one item. What surprised me was pork. I guess Jamaicans love pork! It sells more than anything else. There’s much emphasis on food. What about the beverages? We have a full bar. Anything that you will find in any good bar, you will find here, and more. We have just about any vodka, cognac you can imagine. But most importantly we have Greek liquor. There’s Ouzo, a typical Greek liquorish based drink, and Metaxa which is a Greek cognac like. From those we make certain cocktails. What’s the signature cocktail? The most popular is the ‘Olympic Mojito’. It’s basically the mojito as you know it. We make it with fresh mint, however instead of rum it has Metaxa. That’s what gives it the twist.

How will you maintain the traffic? The key is continuing with great food and superb service. The next step which is gonna happen in a couple of months is an outdoor area, which will be a bar/ lounge but we’ll still serve food there. What’s unique about Opa!? What’s unique about Opa! is that we serve until midnight. Very few restaurants in Jamaica will serve you a full meal past 10:30 p.m. That was my complaint as a consumer. What If I wanna eat late? Well you can come to us. Once we open the outdoor lounge, the kitchen is gonna be open until 2 a.m. so it’s definitely a place to eat late if you’re hungry. Opa! places a lot of emphasis on customer service. The servers are Jamaicans who have learnt to pronounce the Greek food and beverages on the menu and can describe each item.
