Alumasc Swisslab External Wall Insulation System for Refurbishment • When to Specify An External Wall Insulation (EWI) system primarily suited to the refurbishment of existing properties. Swisslab has been designed to upgrade thermal performance and improve the aesthetics of buildings. This direct-fix system can be installed using a choice of insulation materials to meet u-value requirements and building regulations and is fully compatible with Alumasc’s range of high-performance renders, decorative coatings and brick-effect finishes. Swisslab is UK manufactured and has a 25 year track-record of use, with over 6,000,000 m2 installed.

Applications ▪ For refurbishment applications, where the structure provides continuous support for the insulation slabs ▪ Also suitable for new build projects ▪ For unrestricted use on buildings up to 18 metres and high rise applications, subject to Alumasc’s High Rise policy ▪ Particularly suited to upgrading non-traditional house types

Performance ▪ BBA approved, fully warranted system with an effective life of 30 years ▪ Manufactured to ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 Quality and Environmental Management standards ▪ Weather resistant, whilst remaining vapour permeable ▪ Allows the fabric of the building to act as a heat store, increasing thermal efficiency ▪ Eliminates cold bridging, condensation and mould growth ▪ Reduces heating costs and carbon dioxide emissions ▪ Protects the structural fabric, limiting movement and thermal shock and freeze-thaw cycles associated with traditional brickwork façades ▪ Highly resistant to impact damage, rated Class 0 for surface spread of flame and recommended for use in high rise applications by the BRE subject to insulation choice

Technical & Project Support ▪ Site surveys, detail design meetings, project specific elevation colour schemes, CAD drawings and product samples, tenant involvement programmes ▪ Detailed project specifications and health and safety and product data sheets ▪ Thermal calculations, condensation risk analysis and wind loading calculations (for high rise projects)
