NED WHISKY TASMANIA SUPERSPRINT EVENT PREVIEW
The battle between Erebus Motorsport and Triple Eight Race Engineering is heating up entering the fourth event of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship, the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint at Symmons Plains Raceway.
The Chevrolet teams have won all but one race in 2023 –the only defeat coming following a disqualification for Triple Eight – with all four of the teams’ drivers winning a race.
Erebus’ Brodie Kostecki leads the championship by 100 points from the consistent Chaz Mostert of Walkinshaw

With the Camaro leading the way ahead of the Mustang, the fast and flowing Symmons Plains will provide an interesting gauge for how the Gen3 cars shape up and whether the Mustang can fight back.
Supercars will return to a two-day format in Tasmania; the first two-day event of the season. Following two halfhour practice sessions, there will be a three-part knockout qualifying session to set the grid for the 42-lap race on Saturday afternoon. Two quickfire 15-minute qualifying sessions on Sunday morning set the grid for the final two 42-lap races on Sunday afternoon.
Dunlop’s super soft tyre will be used exclusively across the weekend, the first time it’s been used for a whole event this season after it was used as an alternate tyre at Albert Park.
Symmons Plains tends to produce close racing given the short track layout, with the Turn 4 hairpin the main action point. All eyes will be on whether the Camaro continues to lead the way relative to the Mustang and if Kostecki can stay in control of the championship against his more experienced rivals.
