STORY

Many great successes come from humble beginnings, and such is the case with Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. Founded back in 1962 when Vail was just a fledgling ski mountain in it’s second season, our team has always been dedicated to creating great communities in the mountains we call home.

Today, we are a dynamic team of action-oriented brokers, industry-experts, and dedicated support staff working across Summit County, Eagle County, the Roaring Fork Valley and the Front Range still committed as ever to building communities and delighting our clients.

1962

Rod Slifer, ski instructor and real estate agent, starts his one-man operation out of the lobby of the Lodge at Vail, selling properties for Vail Associates. In a few years Rod would open his own brokerage, Slifer & Company, on Bridge Street in Vail.

1977

Joel Ripmaster opens the doors of Colorado Landmark Realtors.

1986

Harry Frampton and Mark Smith form East West Partners, the major force of the development of Beaver Creek Resort. After development Harry and Mark open Frampton Smith Real Estate concentrating on the newly-formed market.

1994

The two top dueling powers of Vail Valley real estate merge, forming Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate.

2000

East West Partners comes to Denver, breaking ground on the Riverfront Park neighborhood on the west side of Downtown. With it, Slifer Smith & Frampton opens its first office in the Mile High City.

Charitable Giving: The Marshall Fire

In 2021 our local communities were rocked by a brush fire that tore through several neighborhoods in Superior and Louisville, places we are proud to serve. Our team jumped into action hosting free pop-up clothing shops, collecting donations, and organizing hotel rooms for evacuated families. Within a month, 40 agents had volunteered over 600 hours of time towards getting these vital communities back on their feet.

Just hours after the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history destroyed more than 1,000 homes and displaced more than 15,000 people, the Colorado Landmark Realtors team went to work raising more than $175,000 in less than 3 days, negotiating more than 1,000 hotel rooms for evacuated families, setting up an aid station in their Louisville office and assembling a free pop-up shop providing more than 400 community members with collected donations.
