There’s huge news in the real estate world... ...AND I’M THRILLED THAT SLIFER SMITH & FRAMPTON IS A PART OF IT.

That big announcement is the launch of Forbes Global Properties, a consortium that brings together the most elite, high-profile real estate firms around the world into one exclusive network. Those firms — with SSF as a founding member — have partnered with the world’s most famous business media empire, Forbes, to create something completely unique in the industry. It’s a big deal, and one that we were in on from early negotiations more than a year ago. We met with co-founders of Forbes Global Properties Jeff Hyland and Bonnie Stone Sellers, both accomplished real estate industry veterans and leaders on global real estate markets and the luxury consumer, and helped them develop a new model for a real estate network — one that maintains local control while offering true global reach to real estate buyers and sellers. Hyland and Sellers wanted us to be involved because of our long history in the world’s most desirable mountain locations, and our record-breaking growth as we’ve expanded into other mountain markets and Denver. We were intrigued because the exceptional time-honored brand that Forbes represents, one we’ve long admired for its quality, innovation, and influence. Unlike the other premier networks, FGP is a decentralized model. All of the member firms — and ours, emphatically — will remain locally owned and operated, and our brokers won’t surrender any of their autonomy. They’ll have direct access to buyer inquiry, dialogue, and personal and business relationships. This partnership gives us incredible global reach, but it lets us keep our independence. It means that our operation will remain driven by local people here on the ground — people working in the communities where they live, where their kids go to school, where they not only know every street but every hiking and ski trail. This membership is also a continuation of one of our big focuses of the last few years — giving our employees the tools they need to excel at their careers. We’ve done that informally since we were founded, and our recent launch of Slifer University put it all under one roof, physically and virtually. With FGP, all that equipment and expertise our people are taking advantage of is multiplied by some incalculable measure as they apply it globally, and as Forbes gives us new tools and relationships to work with.

We’ll have access to incredible digital tools, opportunities for global networking, and exclusive advertising opportunities to Forbes’ high-net worth audience. We’ll get all of this without referral fees. I will be serving on the Forbes Global Properties Board of Directors, helping to make sure important decisions have our team and the community’s best interests in mind. Honestly, except for having to order new stationery, it’s all upside. Over time, we’ll invite new firms into the exclusive network.
