The Breckenridge Ski Resort has proposed an expansion towards Peak 6 that would add 550 acres of above tree line and groomed terrain as well as a six-person detachable lift. Vail Resorts executives say the expansion is necessary to spread skiers out and alleviate the growing overcrowding problems on the resort’s four developed peaks. “We feel like we really need this project to accommodate the visitation,” Breckenridge CEO Pat Campbell said. “Peak 6 terrain will disperse people further out from the core of the mountain.” **Summit Daily News
