ANNOUNCEMENTS (continued)

welcome

Welcome to Sligo Church. One of the things that really makes this time of year so special is the giving and receiving of gifts. I don’t think I have ever met anyone December 12, Saturday who didn’t like the idea of receiving gifts. There is just Young Adults GLOW (God Lighting Our World), something about human nature which enjoys receiving Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. things from others, especially if it’s something that we Homeless Ministry, Discipleship Room, 2:00 p.m. didn’t have to earn. Now this is not to say that there aren’t times when we are given a gift because of heartfelt gratitude. December 14, Monday But what about those times when the arrival of a gift is a complete Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. shock! And not just the gift, but the nature of it as well. For as long as I can remember I have never liked being surprised. Never! I love to December 16, Wednesday surprise others, but to have it reciprocated is just not my cup of tea. Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. I say this because there are gifts that we truly appreciate and would (or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m.) Sanctuary even get for ourselves and then there are those gifts that make us Sligo Book Club Meeting, Discipleship Room, 7:00 p.m. wonder what in the world was the person thinking when they bought Sligo Adult Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 8:00 p.m. the gift for us.

Go and tell what you have seen and heard: The virgin will conceive and bear a son, And they shall name him Emmanuel, God with us. Prepare the way of the Lord!
