In March we will have another ‘Tea and Silent Auction.’ We encourage you to wear a hat and be prepared to bid for your item. Proceeds will go to Scholarshiping our Sisters. For further details, please call ACS at 301.585.6556, or e-mail Kevin at info@acsgw.org WebKids (ACSGW’s new after school program) Mondays & Wednesdays WebKids provides a unique combination of a safe after-school environment and a technical education program for at-risk youth during the critical hours of 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on weekdays. The goal is to improve academic development which facilitates school connectedness and helps students enter society as productive, vital, responsible community members. Students attend an academic out of school time (OST) program in a safe zone. The program offers homework assistance, computer training and social skills development. ACSGW believes that WebKids provides a foundation that helps support healthy, safe and secure neighborhoods. Recycling @ ACSGW has for some time now been refurbishing and donating computers. Our efforts not only help those in need of a computer who cannot afford one but also help by reducing the impact of discarded technological equipment on the environment. For this entire week our campus has been involved in a special time of spiritual refreshment and enrichment as we have united to experience WISE or a Week In Spiritual Emphasis. Sponsored by the Office of Spiritual Life here at Washington Adventist University, each day time has been set aside from the rigors of academia to provide our students with the opportunity to share God’s word, not only to their classmates, but to the entire WAU campus. The theme for this week has been “Take Action!” Today as we come to the conclusion of this week-long journey, we are pleased to welcome Cory Marshall, a senior Theology major from Washington Adventist University, as he shares a message titled “Restoration.” As you worship with us today, our prayer is that you too will experience “restoration” as you prepare to partake of a fresh encounter with the Living God.

• The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shantha Kumari Simon on Monday, January 27 at the age of 90. She was the beloved wife of the late Enjaty Narsiah Simon, and loving mother of Ravindra Narsiah, Evelyn Samuel, Alice Bernton, Howard Simon & the late Leonard Simon. A funeral service will be held tomorrow, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the Southern Asian Seventh-day Adventist Church (2001 East Randolph Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904). Viewing will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church. Prayer Gathering meets Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Halfway through the hour we separate into small groups for focused prayer on various topics, including family, health and community outreach.
