Welcome to Sligo Church. Although I have never had the privilege of serving on a jury, I have received notice several times to appear in the event that I might be selected to serve. When you think about it, to serve as a juror is an awesome responsibility, because whether we fully grasp it or not, the role of determining someone’s guilt or innocence has been placed in our hands. And how many times have we heard of cases where someone has spent years in prison, in some instances most of their lives, only to discover many years later that they had been wrongly convicted. Simply put, the jury got it wrong and as a result an innocent person was made to suffer. Today we begin a series titled, The Church on Trial, in which we will take an in depth look at the Church as we examine its guilt or innocence as it relates to the claims that it has made to be the Church of the Living God. And as strange as it may sound, we do so in the hope of being able to render a verdict of guilty as charged. - Charles A. Tapp

He and his wife have been committed members of Sligo Church for several years.
next week, here at Sligo... Next Sabbath we will celebrate Valentine’s Day. A popular old song tells us that “All We Need is Love.” Pastor Tapp will explain what kind of love we really need in part two of his sermon series, “The Church on Trial: The Love Church.” We will fill our hearts with adoration for God with a sacred serenade from April Henline and the talented choirs of the Columbia Union Choir Festival.
