calendar of events
Welcome to Sligo. If you have attended a communion service here at Sligo in recent years, then you June 23, Monday know that it is my favorite service of those that we Regeneration Ministries, Office Conf. Room, 7:00 p.m. celebrate as Christians and I am proud to say that it has become that for many of our members as well. June 24, Tuesday Sadly, this cannot be said of many of our churches. Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. For whatever the reason, the celebration of the Lord’s Or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m. Supper does more to drive believers away from the worship of God June 25, Wednesday than it does to draw them to it. Throughout my many years in ministry, I have witnessed firsthand members that arrived at church ready to Sanctuary Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 7:30 p.m. worship God, but no sooner than they discovered it was going to be a Homes of Hope Health Series, Sanctuary, 6:30 p.m. communion service, were quick to make a beeline for the nearest exit. And this is not unique to any particular church or congregation, but I June 30, Monday have witnessed it wherever I have served. Time will not permit me to Regeneration Ministries, Office Conf. Room, 7:00 p.m. list the many reasons for this, but what I believe is paramount to this Administrative Board Meeting, Fellowship Hall A, 7:00 p.m. condition is that, although we may show up on Sabbath, the painful reality is that there is a little of Judas in all of us.
SABBATH, JUNE 28 Church Service, Sanctuary, 8:45 & 11:00 a.m. Speaker: Don McFarlane Mizo Service, Office Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Sligo by the Sea, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 10301 Coastal Highway in Ocean City, MD, 11:00 a.m. Speaker: Dunbar Henri

Summary of our Beliefs
• The Bible is the inspired word of God and our only rule of
faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). • Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God and our personal Savior from sin by grace through faith. (John 1:1-3; Ephesians 2:8). • Having been saved, followers of Jesus live in obedience to Him by observing the Ten Commandments. (Exodus 20: 1-17; John 14:15). • The Sabbath – the seventh day of the week- established by God at creation and honored by Jesus in His earthly ministry, is to be observed by the followers of Jesus. (Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Peter 2:21). • Jesus is coming back to earth personally and visibly to raise the righteous dead and give His faithful children of all ages immortality in an earth made new. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 22:12; 21:1-3). • Our love for God is demonstrated primarily by our love for our fellowmen. (1 John 4:20; Matthew 25:34-40)

“The hypocrite, like Judas, kisses Christ, but betrays Him, and, like ivy, he clasps about Christ, but is not united to Him; he again, like ivy, derives not sap and nourishment from Him, but from a root of his own.” – R. VENNING
