ANNOUNCEMENTS (continued)

welcome

Welcome to Sligo today. Expectations, if we’re honest, we have to admit that we all have them. Whether they’re the expectations an employer might have of March 19, Saturday his and her employee, the expectations that parents have of their children, wives of their husbands and Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. husbands of their wives; we are all guilty. But have you Sligo Underground, Youth Room, 11:00 a.m. ever stopped to wonder why? Why do we create these Adventurers Meeting, Primary Room, 1:30 p.m. presumptions when it comes to people and, yes, even when it Lennox Westney Funeral, Sanctuary, 4:30 p.m. comes to life itself? I believe that the answer lies in understanding what an expectation is. Simply put, they are beliefs that we hold March 20, Sunday about the future. And when you think about it, who doesn’t possess a desire, a hope that his or her future will be much improved over Ladies Annual Tea Party, Atrium Suite, 2:00 p.m. their past and even their present? But what happens when we set our expectations too high? Are we in danger of setting ourselves March 21, Monday up for a disappointment? And what about the danger in setting our Regeneration Ministries, Office Conference Room, 7:30 p.m. expectations too low? As we will see in our message today, sometimes we set our expectations too high, even when it comes to God. March 23, Wednesday - Charles A.
