ANNOUNCEMENTS (continued)

welcome

Welcome to Sligo! The word church conjures up various images. For some it is a comfortable childhood memory, for others a cold distant building. It may May 28, Saturday be a place of judgement or a place of love and Young Adults GLOW, Memorial Chapel, 9:30 a.m. relationships, a place where like minded people gather or a place where one can hear and learn about God. May 30, Monday, Memorial Day Holiday For most, the word “church” has little to do with its original meaning, Church Office is closed which is a people who have been called out or an assembly. In the Regeneration Ministries is cancelled Christian context, it is people who have been called out by Jesus to June 1, Wednesday Jesus. The call of Jesus has always been to the whole person, not Prayer Gathering, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m. a part. When the disciples were called out 2000 years ago, ‘they forsook all and followed Him.’ I trust that in our worship today we will (or by phone: 949.229.4400 Pin:4997774#, 7:35 p.m.) understand that Jesus’ call to us today is not different from that given Sligo Adult Choir Rehearsal, Choir Room, 8:00 p.m. to the disciples. June 2, Thursday - Pranitha Fielder Exercise Class, Office Chapel, 6:30 p.m.

OUR LIFE TOGETHER

sabbath devotional

“Faith does not grasp a doctrine, but a heart. The trust which Christ requires is the bond that unites souls with Him; and the very life of it is entire committal of myself to Him in all my relations and for all my needs, and absolute utter confidence in Him as all sufficient for everything that I can require.” - Alexander MacLaren
