One of the key challenge we face today is the economical crisis and the lack of food resources, even though the demand for these resources are high. With a context that will be urbanized in few years, this may become a major concern for this context and it is essential for adapt these people for face these upcoming challenges.
The design focuses on this matter while providing a better and safer environment for the user to fulfil their transportation needs. Conceptual Approach
Problem identification Considering about the given context for this project, it reveals that this is an area which has a high tendency to develop rapidly within short period of time.As a result, it has a higher tendency to urbanize and increase its population and limit the amount of land available for the consumption However when paying attention to current situation, the given context consists Meegoda economic center and Meegoda railway station which are functioning separately as conventional railway station and economic center which stagnates within the context It does not create mutual relationship between the communities. This leads to slow down the future developments happens within the area and does not help the community to embrace and adapt into the rapid changes happen within context and the challenges arise with these changes.

PROJECT SUMMARY
This project focused on “Kanneliya” forest reserve which is located in the southern part of the island Sri Lanka. Kanneliya forest is a part of Kanneliya, Dediyagala and Nakiyadeniya forest complex (KDN Complex0 and it is considered as the number 1 bio diversity hotspot in Sri Lanka.
For this design students were encouraged to design a visitor information center and museum facility for Kanneliya forest reserve which can be helpful for both local and foreign visitors who are interested in enjoying the nature in an unique way Since it is highly environmentally sensitive context, it is essential to approach this kind of design in a sustainable manner while ensuring the design respond to the existing context The main focus of this design is to bring the users/visitors into state of mind where they can explore the Kanneliya forest reserve in a unique angle.
Kanneliya is a lowland rainforest which has been subjected to selective logging from 1940 to 1987 most of the forest in Kanneliya forest reserve today is considered as secondary forest and it is designated as UNESCO biosphere reserve in 2004.
The main objective of this project is to provide accurate and essential information to the visitor while let them self realize the harmful acts which are done by human beings to the nature without realizing. This may help the visitors to adapt into the natural habitat that they are entering into and gain maximum out of their visit rather than merely visit here and enjoy.
Through this design it creates a platform to visitors to gain something while their main intensions are preserved and create an optimal environment to enjoy and gain maximum benefit through their tour inside the forest reserve

Conceptual Approach
Problem Identification Kanneliya forest reserve is open to both local and foreign tourist which attracts around 15,000 tourists a year. However the intention of their visit to here is varies from each other. Some visits here for research and educational purpose while some visitors only come here for leisure and entertainment purpose. There is no proper mechanism for bring these people into a state where they can truly experience the nature of Kanneliya. As a result the significance for this place is not earn properly and visitor’s expected result through visit to kanneliya cannot be achieved fully. This is the reason why for some visitors it is just a hike through trees while some visitors it is a paradise with beauty and knowledge.
