PROJECT SUMMARY
This project is about designing a personalized house which can become a home for a selected family at a given specific site. The client was be the Studio Tutor for third design project – ‘Artist studio’ which is architect Dimantha Wellange. A site was assigned from the area in Thalangama Lake.
A house is a single-unit residential building. It may range in complexity from a rudimentary hut to a complex structure of wood, masonry, concrete or other material, outfitted with plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Houses use various roofing systems to prevent precipitation such as rain from getting into the dwelling space. Houses may have doors or locks to secure the dwelling space and protect its inhabitants and contents from burglars or other trespassers. . The architecture and expression of what a house is have changed based on the owner, site, and climate. The culture of the society and social strata will also have a profound effect on how a house is arranged in terms of space.
Therefore, it is essential to understand for whom you are designing, where it will be located, how the client perceives a house and the activities that will take place. The architect also will have to consider how each client perceives their own household – for some it will be the centre of their existence and own personal haven, and for others, it will be mostly the space where they wind down from the worldly duties for rest and respite. An understanding of your client’s point of view towards life and family is therefore crucial for formulating their actual requirements for the house.
PROJECT SUMMARY
This project is about designing a small free-standing building which is a studio cum Bedsitter for a creative artist at a selected site.
An artist is a creative person who spends time expressing their creativity through different media. Some through Painting, some through dance and others through other different art forms using non-conventional media such as metal, glass, clay and visual technology. Regardless of the medium they use, every artist seeks to express their ideas, ideals and emotions in a creative manner.
Artists highly value their private workspace. So often it is a private place for them to reflect, find sanctuary and carry out their creative work.
PROJECT SUMMARY
This project is about designing a portable camping kitchen which will enable to prepare a meal for two persons, who are camping partners . The meal will consist of Rice, Dhal curry and Tempered canned fish. For that I need to carry the essentials need to prepare the above menu, including the utensils which need to prepare the meal and serve it to two persons and the other person will carry the camping gear and water.
Camping is an outdoor activity involving overnight stays away from home, either without shelter or using basic shelters such as a tent, or a recreational vehicle. Typically, participants leave developed areas to spend time outdoors in more natural ones in pursuit of activities providing them enjoyment or an educational experience. The night (or more) spent outdoors distinguishes camping from day-tripping, picnicking, and other similarly shortterm recreational activities.
PROJECT SUMMARY
This project is about designing spaces according to Anthropometry and Ergonomics, which is redesign my existing bedroom for my body proportions and my needs.
Anthropometry refers to the measurement of the human individual. An early tool of physical anthropology, it has been used for identification, for the purposes of understanding human physical variation. Anthropometry involves the systematic measurement of the physical properties of the human body, primarily dimensional descriptors of body size and shape.[citation needed] Since commonly used methods and approaches in analyzing living standards were not helpful enough, anthropometric history became very useful for historians in answering questions that interested them. Today, anthropometry plays an important role in industrial design, clothing design, ergonomics and architecture where statistical data about the distribution of body dimensions in the population are used to optimize products
Ergonomics (or human factors) is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design to optimize human well-being and overall system performance.
A bedroom or bedchamber is a room situated within a residential or accommodation unit characterized by its usage for sleeping.
PROJECT SUMMARY
This project is about analyzing and understanding a character, and representing it through a design.
Andare was a court jester whose witty acts and satirical comments entertained both royals and commoners alike. Most of the stories have a comical ending with Andare getting the better of villagers and even the King. They mainly highlight the mindlessness of others and pranks. Andare was also an accomplished poet, who could instantly compose verses, to suit any situation. His true talent however lay in his ability to get away with sheer mockery directed at even the King, who at times tried to get the better of Andare but failed. People took no offence to his light-hearted humour, for ultimately the situation became very amusing.
