Training Tip: Encoding Audio Books Overview: Take the following steps to create a single mp3 file from multiple CD tracks. This can be useful when encoding audio book discs. These will often have many segments (tracks), which need to be encoded as one. 1. Download and install iTunes (free): http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.

Open iTunes and insert the desired CD into the drive. From the menu bar, select Edit> Preferences. Select the Advanced> Importing tabs. Set the Import Using field to MP3 Encoder. Set the Setting field to Good Quality 128 kbps. ď ľ Note: If storage space is a concern, you can also select Custom and set a lower bit rate.

7. iTunes will auto-detect the CD and display the contents (tracks). 8. Select the desired tracks. 9. From the menu bar, select Advanced> Join CD Tracks.
10. Right click the selected tracks and click Convert Selection to MP3.

11. Select the encoded track (Library> Music), right click and select Get Info. Enter desired info (i.e., File name, Artist and Album).
