United Methodist Women (UMW): The new Black History Devotional Booklets are available for a small donation of $5 each. Please see Diane Mewborn or any member of the UMW team. The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship: and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

THE ELIZABETH RIVER DISTRICT MEN'S MINISTRY WINTER BANQUET WILL BE HELD JANUARY 19, 2016, AT BAYLAKE UMC @6:00 PM, $12 PER PERSON. ROLFE CARAWAN, A CHRISTIAN MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER, WILL BE OUR FEATURED GUEST ALONG WITH THE FRANCIS ASBURY BAND. WE ENCOURAGE ALL MEN IN THE UMC TO ATTEND THIS FUNCTION AND HOST YOUR PASTOR (‘S) AND LIFE MEMBERS. THIS IS THE DISTRICT’S ONLY FUND RAISING EVENT. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED – WIVES INVITED. This is open to everyone who has a heart for empowering disciples of Jesus Christ in the 21st century. REACHING OUT TO THE COMMUNITY
ODU: The non-profit organization, Through HIS Hands, in partnership with the ODU campus ministry, IGNITE, will be starting a Student Food Pantry mid- February for ODU students who are food insecure. We are looking for churches in the district, who would be interested in collecting canned goods/non-perishables for this Student Food Pantry. If you are interested in this ministry, please talk to the pastor.
