OPENING SELECTION “Just Wanna Praise You” By: Maurette Brown Clark

Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky. The Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before the Lord, and make God’s footsteps a way. The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 85 Response:

The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

“I’m So Glad” By: Evelyn Simpson-Curenton

Leader:

Lord, you showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people; you pardoned all their sin.

Verse 1 I’m so glad Jesus lifted me. I’m so glad Jesus lifted me. I’m so glad Jesus lifted me, Singin’ Glory, Hallelujah, Jesus lifted me!

People: Leader:

You withdrew all your wrath; you turned from your hot anger. Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us! Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. Let me hear what God will speak, for the Lord will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to the Lord in their hearts. Surely salvation is at hand for those who fear the Lord, that glory may dwell in our land. Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other.

Verse 2 Satan had me bound; Jesus lifted me. Satan had me bound; Jesus lifted me. Satan had me bound; Jesus lifted me, Singin’ Glory, Hallelujah, Jesus lifted me! Verse 3 When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me. When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me. When I was in trouble, Jesus lifted me, Singin’ Glory, Hallelujah, Jesus lifted me!

By: Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane Director of Stewardship & Generosity, Discipleship Ministries, The United Methodist Church Compassionate God: You know us in every step of our lives and in every misstep. We all have stories that we tell with pride and those we would hide and long to forget – but you know them all. We bring our gifts to you this day, knowing that your love is not dependent on our best moments, but on how we have persevered in finding the discipleship path, after we have fallen short. May our gifts and our lives themselves be a witness to your relentless love. We pray in the holy name of Christ, our redeemer. Amen. (Hosea 1:2-10)
