OPENING
“We Sing To the Glory of God” By: Ruby Mann Pool “Psalm 19” Response: Hear the commandments of life; give ear, and learn wisdom. Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: People:
The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims God’s handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard; yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them God has set a tent for the sun, which comes forth like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and runs its course with joy like a strong man. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them; and there is nothing hid from its heat.
Response: Hear the commandments of life; give ear, and learn wisdom.
Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: People: Leader: People:
The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Leader: People:
Moreover by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. But who can understand one’s own errors? Clear me from hidden faults. Also keep your servant from the insolent; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Response: Hear the commandments of life; give ear, and learn wisdom.

INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP
“Kneel at the Cross” By: Charles E. Moody
Verse 1 Kneel at the cross, Christ will meet you there, Come while He waits for you; List to His voice, Leave with Him your care And begin life anew. Verse 2 Kneel at the cross, There is room for all Who would His glory share; Bliss there awaits, Harm can ne’er befall Those who are anchored there. Verse 3 Kneel at the cross, Give your idols up, Look unto realms above; Turn not away To life’s sparkling cup; Trust only in His love.
MINISTRY THROUGH TITHES AND OFFERINGS By: Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane Director of Stewardship & Generosity, Discipleship Ministries, The United Methodist Church
Loving God: Jesus taught us “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” We offer our gifts to you, knowing they are part of our treasure, and we do so with the hope that our hearts, our actions, and the words of our tongues will likewise follow. We acknowledge that the tongues that praise you are often the ones that hurt you, when we use them to diminish or discount one of your precious children. Guide our hearts, minds, and tongues to the words that bring you joy. In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen. (James 3:1-12)
