“Enter Into His Gates with Thanksgiving and Praise” November 20, 2022 Twenty-Third Sunday After Pentecost
~ ~ ~ OPENING SELECTION “In the Name of Jesus” By: Walter Owens, Jr.
CALL TO WORSHIP** Based on Jeremiah 23 & Luke 1 Hans Holznagel, Ministry Matters Leader:
It is done.
Even when things seem out of control,
(Apostles’ Creed)
Jeremiah 23:1-6
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
PRAYER
Let us prepare the way for God.
CONGREGATIONAL SINGING**

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH**
Verse 3 Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided, Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!
MINISTRY THROUGH TITHES AND OFFERINGS Almighty, Creator God: We humbly bring our gifts to you this day. On Calvary’s cross, your son redefined for the world, what it meant to rule, what it meant to be a king. In his life, teaching and interacting with people, Jesus redefined what it means to give in a way that pleases God. May we in this season live and give in a way that reflects the reign over us and the one who lives within us. In the exalted name of Christ, we pray. Amen. (Luke 23:33-43)
BLESSING AND SENDING FORTH Go in peace.
