Welcome
Bless you for joining us today. At Nor folk UMC we focus on real people, living real lives, and seeking to ser ve a real God. We have a Bold Vision for ministr y which includes wor ship, pr aise and pr ayer at the center. It goes without saying that we believe in Jesus Chr ist and the power of the Holy Spir it. All of our ministr ies are done with these values and beliefs in mind. We are not in the number s game, we seek daily to minister according to the will of God. God has blessed our church and each member in awesome ways. We all declare that "each mor ning new mercies I see." Our pr ayer for you today is that God will bless your presence even in vir tual online for mat, that you will feel the presence of the Lord and that you will encounter God in a fresh and new way. Ser ving as the pastor of this congregation is a joy and a challenge.

Johnson Verse 1 Lift ev?r y voice and sing, Till ear th and heaven r ing, Ring with the har monies of liber ty; Let our rejoicing r ise, High as the list?ing skies, Let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us, Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us; Facing the r ising sun, Of our new day begun, Let us march on till victor y is won. Verse 2 Stony the road we trod, Bitter the chast?ning rod,
Felt in the days when hope unbor n had died; Yet with a steady beat, Have not our wear y feet Come to the place for which our people sighed? We have come over a way that with tear has been watered; We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered; Out from the gloomy past, Till nowwe stand at last Where the br ight gleam of our br ight star is cast. Verse 3 God of our wear y year s, God of our silent tear s, Thou who has brought us thus far on the way; Thou who hast by Thy might, Led us into the light, Keep us forever in the path, we pr ay. Lest our feet str ay from the places, our God, where we met Thee, Lest our hear ts, dr unk with the wine of the world, we for get Thee; Shadowed beneath Thy hand, May we forever stand, Tr ue to our God, tr ue to our native land.
