SLUH PRINCIPAL JOB DE SCRIP TION
THE SLUH PRINCIPAL: • Serves as the instructional, operational and visionary leader of the school while modeling a living faith. • Provides a clear vision for learning, ensures a safe, secure, and orderly environment, and cultivates strong relationships with students, faculty, families, and the broader community. • Promotes high-quality instructional practices, enjoys working with young people, and believes that all students can achieve their God-given potential.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Animates the Mission and Vision with all stakeholder groups • Oversees the administration, operation, and development of the academic, co-curricular, and formational programs of the school • Partners with Directors to ensure the excellence of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Admissions, Athletics, School Counseling, College Counseling, Learning Center, Global Education, Campus Ministry, Innovation Lab, and IT • Works with the President and Leadership team to budget and strategically plan • Advises the Board of Trustees and ex officio member of all Board committees • Hires Faculty, Staff, Assistant Principals, and Directors • Ensures school safety and security • Engages in student recruitment and admissions • Maintains appropriate accreditations and sponsorships

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Leader of innovation in pedagogic and curricular matters • Exemplary communicator
• Master’s degree in Education Administration, Educational Leadership or relevant field • Appropriate professional experience, including pertinent leadership roles
• Excellent organization, planning, execution, budgeting and evaluation skills • Ability to identify and solve problems
