Again, thank you for worshiping with us today…do it often. Walter Brueggemann Headlines April 10 Distinguished Lecture Series. Dr. Walter Brueggemann is widely considered one of the most influential Old Testament scholars of the last several decades and he will be Saint Michael’s Distinguished Lecturer on Sunday, April 10. In Parish Hall at 10:00 Dr. Brueggemann will speak on “Covenant as an Alternative to Pharaoh.” And, at a reservations-only lunch in the Coke Activities Room at 12:30, he will address “Covenantal Economics: How God Wants us to Treat The Other.” Make reservations with Julia at jgiles@ saintmichael.org. Cost is $15. Childcare with lunch is available upon request. Confirmation Preparation for Adults - Starts Wednesday. Learn about joining the Episcopal Church and Saint Michael and All Angels. Confirmation Preparation, a five-week series led by Interim Rector Doug Travis and The Rev. Greg Pickens, begins Wednesday, March 30 from 6:30 – 8:00 in the Coke Activities Room. Dinner and childcare (for ages 3 & under) is provided. Saint Michael’s Farmers Market Opens Saturday, April 16 – Volunteer Now. Saturday, April16 will be the opening day for Saint Michael’s Farmers Market. Our long-time vendors will be joined by several new ones with delicious, healthy produce, fresh eggs, no-hormone meats, and a lot more. The market will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12- Noon. The church offices will be closed tomorrow. As a result the Women’s Cancer Support Group and Christian Yoga will not meet. They will resume their regular schedule next week: Women’s Cancer Support at 1:45 in the Parlor; Christian Yoga at 5:30 in the Youth Center.

All of the Easter Sunday Offerings will benefit Outreach Ministries Three ministries serving women and families will benefit from today’s Easter Offerings. The money will be divided equally between: • Gateway of Grace in Dallas, the largest refugee outreach program in North Texas • Our Friends Place in Dallas providing transitional resources for young women facing neglect, abuse, poverty, or homelessness. • The Princess Basma Centre for Children with Disabilities in Jerusalem

Vacation Bible School Registration Begins Friday- Fishing for Volunteers. Registration for this year’s Vacation Bible School, June 13 -16, begins Friday, April 1. Volunteers are needed and can sign-up now online at www. saintmichael.org/vbs.


Courtyard and Columbarium Tours Scheduled April 17. Take a stroll and experience the beauty of Saint Michael’s Nave Courtyard and Columbarium after the 11:00 services on Sunday, April 17. The Columbarium Committee and clergy will provide tours of this wonderful space where the combination of wind, water, and sky are blended to enhance the serenity of our entire campus. Acolyte Training Set for April 16 and 23. The Saint Michael and All Angels’ Acolyte Corps is recognized as one of the best in the Episcopal Church. Join this acclaimed group and help enhance our worship. Acolyte training will be held on Saturdays, April 16 and 23 from 9:00 – 10:30. Only one training session is required. The Watchdog of the Dallas Morning News, Dave Leiber, will give the Prime Timers the scoop on Thursday, April 7, 10:30, Coke Activities Room. Books by the author will be available. Saint Michael Episcopal School Summer Camp Registration Underway. Beginning in June, the Saint Michael Episcopal School will offer seven week-long summer camps for children 2-years old – 5 years old. Included is a “Stay and Play” option in the afternoons. The August Summer Camp will focus on Getting Ready for Kindergarten. Get a complete description of the camps online at www.smesdallas.org/summer. The Edge and Catechesis-I to Get New Homes. Beginning next Sunday, April 3, the Catechesis-I class will move from its first floor room next to the Coke Activities Room to the former Edge Room on the second floor near the Youth Center. The Edge is relocating to the Blue Room in the Youth Center. End of Life Series Begins April 17. A three week series dealing with End of Life issues will be offered beginning Sunday, April 17. At the first session, parishioner, Kathy Rose, from Community Hospice of Texas will discuss Hospice Care. On April 24, Bennett Cullum will present “The Legal Side of End of Life.” The series will close with The Rev. Lisa Flores Musser talking about planning a memorial service and Kimberly Robinson presenting Saint Michael’s Columbarium options. The series will be in the ESD Library at 10:00. Centering Prayer Group. Join us on Tuesdays at 10:00, in the Clergy Conference Room, to engage in Centering Prayer. Learn how to be still, pray, and center your mind on what is most important to you. Saint Michael 101, April 3 – A Dinner Experience for New Comers This is an evening for people who want to join or learn more about Saint Michael and All Angels Church. The Rev. Bob Johnston will lead a lively fast-paced, and fun dinner on Sunday, April 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 in the Coke Activities Room. Come meet our Clergy, Vestry, and Program Staff. A teacher, counselor, and author, Ms. Fischer focuses on adolescent social, emotional, sexual and relational development. The Fellowship Class meets at 10:00 in Parish Hall.
