Leadership Council Member Responsibilities
General Expectations – Duty
Know and support Smart Beginnings Shenandoah Valley (SBSV) vision and mission Be Early Childhood Champions by advocating for SBSV and articulating the importance of early childhood initiatives in this region Nominate and assist in recruiting an individual to serve on the Leadership Council at the end of my term Declare any conflict of interest that may exist in decision-making on each vote and meeting discussion
Meetings – Participation
Participate in quarterly Leadership Council meetings o 2012 dates - January 11, April 11, July 11, October 10; 2013 dates – January 9, April 10, July 9, October 8 o Houff Community Center - Bridgewater Retirement Community o 8:00-9:30 a.m., breakfast served at 7:45 a.m. Act as consultants to SBSV Steering Committee by sharing expertise, especially in the areas of strategic planning, public awareness and fundraising Attend the annual Early Childhood Leadership Summit
Resource Development – Care
Assist the SBSV Steering Committee in ensuring long-term sustainability of the organization Cultivate resources that promote the mission of SBSV, i.e. human resources, financial resources, and in-kind gifts Support the mission of SBSV through a corporate or personal financial gift annually (no minimum)
