Leadership Council Responsibilities

A strong Leadership Council is an integral part of Smart Beginnings Shenandoah Valley. This Leadership Council is a regional entity consisting of community leaders and decision-makers representative of the localities in the coalition. Members hold quarterly meetings to review plans and outcomes of the Steering Committee and Locality Teams. It is their role to influence the work of the coalition through strategic planning, consultation, guidance and leveraging of resources.

Responsibilities: 1. Promote the vision and mission of the organization 2. Ensure strategic planning for the organization 3. Obtain long term sustainability by ensuring adequate resources to fulfill the mission and vision of Smart Beginnings Shenandoah Valley 4. Enhance public awareness of the organization by being Early Childhood Champions in the region 5. Monitor and strengthen the organization’s activities across the region 6. Be informed of the activities of Steering Committee and Locality Teams
