Getting the best from Enhanced Continuous Provision in Early Years

With expert input and facilitation from Sarah Quinn, delegates will reflect on the use of continuous provision as one of the greatest privileges of the early years and we should ensure that all children have the chance to access the provision, to develop the characteristics of effective learning and to know and remember more. This conference will enable you to refresh your understanding of high-quality continuous provision inside and outside. It will allow you to consider the purpose of the whole environment. Continuous provision and the concept of ‘teach it, practise it, apply it’ is supported by a well-planned environment. The environment doesn’t just allow children to initiate play and to create and problem solve. Well planned enhanced continuous provision will allow children to practise and apply their learning and will challenge their thinking. During the day, we will look at using the continuous provision to engage the reluctant learner to deepen children’s knowledge and understanding, and to support their long term memory. You will have the opportunity to share ideas and discuss ways to overcome barriers to effective use of the continuous provision.
