Numicon

This excellent maths system is a multisensory approach to arithmetic teaching for children aged 4-7, and for older pupils with SEN. Numicon uses patterns to represent each numeral, these patterns are structured so that number relationships can be seen in a way not provided by written numerals. Kits are available in class or one-to-one sets depending on your needs.

Firm Foundation Kits

The Firm Foundation Kit gives teachers lots of practical ideas for helping children to develop understanding of numbers and number relationships. Pupils are taught the colours and patterns of Numicon, to order the Numicon Maths Shapes and to learn their number values. They move on to ordering numerals and shapes together and then begin practical addition and subtraction within 10.
