Otters are hungry! They like to eat fish, urchins, clams, mussels and crabs.

Otters are smart! They use rocks to crack open the crabs. Otters do not need bags. An otter’s armpit is a terrific spot to keep rocks and food.

The term for a baby otter is ‘pup’. A little pup needs a lot of support. Pups settle down with the mums until they have the skills needed to handle living without them. 6

Do not keep an otter as a pet! Otters screech and dribble and smell like fish. 8
