Latvian Trade Union Energy Solidaridad Mister President
The Latvian Trade Union Energy in Latvia protests strongly against the occupation by the Mexican Federal Police of electrical plants in the country, the liquidation of the Light and Power Company and the firing of 45,000 workers which means the destruction of their union.
We see this as a violation of labour rights and human rights, which can not be accepted.
We urge the responsible politicians to act immediately and do as the Mexican Electrical Workers Union has asked: 1) Remove the police from their workplaces. 2) Revoke the liquidation of the company. 3) Negotiate the issues with the union.
The Latvian Trade Union Energy demands that these workers' rights and their union are respected according to international labor and human rights standards.
Best Regards, Latvian Trade Union Energy
