As well as Carlton Town, Martin also names Hucknall Town, Grantham Town, Worksop Town and Clifton All Whites amongst his previous clubs. An eight-teen year playing career which came to an end in December for over half that time Martin has represented Carlton Town. Ball progressed through the

CTFC academy system to the first team, making his debut at just seven-teen, where he won the Supporters Player of the Year in the 2009/10 season.

He joined Hucknall Town at the start of the 2010/11 season before joining Grantham Town, helping them win the Evo-Stik League Division 1 South championship in May 2012. Before returning to Carlton earning numerous promotions and play off appearances and a handful of Nottinghamshire Senior Cup wins.

Daryll began football as a youngster at Nottingham Forest, before moves to Chesterfield and Matlock Town.

In 2006 Thomas signed forms with Carlton Town scoring a hat-trick on his home debut. In a statement on the clubs website Town Chairman Mick Garton said: “The signing of Darryl Thomas is one of the reasons Carlton play at the level we do. He has to go down as one of the greatest goal scorers at our level of football over many years. Daryll went on to score 29 goals for the Millers in the 2007-2008 season and his 32 goals in the 2008-2009 season helped see Carlton make the playoffs before going down to Stocksbridge Park Steels and a certain Jamie Vardy who helped them to victory that night.

Another career highlight as he won promotion via the play-offs to the Northern Premier League with Ilkeston Town, scoring two goals in the semi-final and a goal in the final.

He moved to the London area from Nottingham shortly after and signing for Slough Town. Before returning north with local sides Dunkirk and back for his second spell at Carlton Town.

Speakingtoboththeyhadthistosay;

“We are delighted to be announced as joint managers of ECFC. We would like to thank Darryl and Jamie for the opportunity to take over at this huge club. We have both been around Nottinghamshire non-league football long enough to know that Eastwood is a sleeping giant. We have played our football mainly at step 3 & 4, and Eastwood was always the biggest club in Nottinghamshire and that’s where we believe the club belongs.

We are under no illusions this appointment may raise some eyebrows, but we have always been ambitious as players and that will only enhance as we move into management, which is why we think Eastwood and ourselves are the perfect fit. We have specific ideas and a style of play that we want to implement that centres around exciting, attacking football. We ask for patience from the supporters whilst we work with the players to implement this, with the first priority being keeping us in this league. We have always played in exciting, entertaining football teams and that is exactly what we want to bring to the club. We look forward to joining you all on what promises to be an exciting journey back to where this club belongs!”
