11th Erik Cogswell Memorial Bipolar Disorder Conference About the Conference 11 years ago, Erik Cogswell, a young man from New Castle and Barrington, NH, took his life after suffering from the potentially crippling illness of bipolar disorder. In his memory, his family helped establish the Erik Cogswell Memorial Bipolar Disorder Conference “to educate, support and provide hope” to those living with bipolar disorder as well as their families, friends, and the general community.

About the Keynote SMHC welcomes Carol Bailey Floyd, director of Programs for Mental Health Recovery and WRAP® (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) at the Copeland Center forWellness and Recovery, who was recently honored by the Ohio Department of Mental Health for her efforts as project coordinator for the University of Illinois at Chicago’s WRAP research study. At this year ’s conference, Carol will talk about how to strengthen your circles of support. Whether you identify them them clearly or not, our friends, family members, and mental health professionals all support us in various ways-even mental health professionals themselves have circles of support. In her keynote address, Carol will discuss how to become clear about whom we support, who supports us, and how everyone fits into the rhythm of our lives as well as how to better coordinate ourselves and our relationships.
SMHC’s mission is to provide a broad and comprehensive array of high quality, effective and accessible mental health services to residents of the eastern half of Rockingham County.
