ANDC 2020-21 Design a Bus terminus - Vadodara
TOP 40 ENTRIES
BRIEF OF TROPHY
Public mobility spaces are the one’s which help people connect to places across the country. All of this has come to a pause due to the current pandemic. The mobility spaces are becoming hotspots for transmission of diseases and hence caged people inside their homes. Redesigning a basic space such as a bus terminus and analyse all the issues faced by the various stakeholders, by developing a safer and healthier environment. take up one of the following scenarios and design a bus terminus.
CONCEPT AND IDEATION E1
In an Urban area/tier 1 town as plugin bus terminus, Where it is connected to another mode of transport such as metros, railway stations and airports; wherein the entry/exit points need to be relooked at.

MSL 2020-21 landscape intervention
SPECIAL MENTION-1 BRIEF OF TROPHY
A good Landscape Design is a perfect balance between art, science and nature. It is artistic because it involves design aesthetics in terms of the outdoor form, space and order. It is scientific because it involves logic & understanding of natural processes and systems along with precise knowledge of the plant world. And the ultimate expression of all this is in close connect with nature, all of it orchestrated in the larger landscape space. A perfect balance between the three results into physical experiences that can uplift mental spirits, expand interactions, and invigorate the lives of people, thus making it meaningful for them.

BRIEF OF TROPHY
Since the inception of human civilization, the one constant throughout history has always been that, building structures has been an exclusively social event. With an estimated approximate of over 45 million workers employed in the construction sector, these faceless and voiceless folk often recruited from remote villages or urban slums are taken advantage of, and face constant atrocities beyond the common occurrence of workplace accidents. One of the ways, in which property owners and government officials get away infringing on the rights of this vulnerable community, is by recruiting non-locals, who have virtually no power over foreign terrain. it orchestrated in the larger landscape space. A perfect balance between the three results into physical experienceVs that can uplift mental spirits, expand interactions, and invigorate the lives of people, thus making it meaningful for them.
CONCEPT AND IDEATION Bold effort to bridge the lifestyle gap between construction laborers and their employers, and giving back to the construction sector in meaningful and responsible manner. Mobile settlement to shelter these construction laborers of the medium scale project. The design is collapsible and easily employed over a variety of terrain, stages of construction and weather conditions. It address the core problems concerning safety, security, privacy and right to dignified lives for the laborers. It is able to adapt to various iterations of arrangement that would be called for at different points in the construction process.

GRIHA 2020-21
A GST Building in Ghaziabad (Commercial).
BRIEF OF TROPHY
Green buildings generate less waste, lesser air, water, and soil pollution both during construction and operation. It also accounts for proper safety, health, and sanitation facilities for the construction workers (during construction) and the occupants (while in use). It restricts the use of high Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) substances in their systems as well as in the interior finishes.
CONCEPT AND IDEATION
A GST Building in Ghaziabad (Commercial) has an itereractive approach and integration of strategies. Design concept highlighting the climate responsive and passive/ active features, water and waste management strategies, strategies for improving occupant comfort and wellbeing, universal accessibility, safety and security, environmental awareness and social impact. The return on investment in green buildings is fast, by virtue of lower maintenance and energy costs as compared to the conventional buildings.

Industrial Design Trophy 2020-21 Sadeli Art, Surat.
SPECIAL MENTION BRIEF OF TROPHY
Our country has been at the crossroads of civilization for thousands of years. There have been various interactions from the northwest, trade with the south and influences from the east over these years. These dialogues and churning of cultures have brought different ideas, practices and skill sets that contributed to how our society took shape. Our country, undoubtedly, remains the most complex mix of races, cultures, religions, and traditions.

CONCEPT AND IDEATION
A craftsman has his skills passed on from generations, details that have come out of a certain need and context. Materials are explored in their humble forms to create expressions that are vast and to represent the community as a whole. The observations of these processes and various crafts often reveal the subtle nuances of the tools used in creating the objects; the imperfections that define the expression. Bridge the gap between a designer and a craftsman.

WORKSHOPS
1.Wooden Workshop In this different wooden joinery were taught, like tenon and mortise joint, dovetail joint, butt joint, biscuit joint, box joint, dado joint, miter joint, lap joint, etc.
2.Shading/Deployable Architecture Workshop In this 4 to 5 days workshop we had our hands on pvc pipes and created dome structure and also learned joinery details. 3 different structures were made under this unit.
3.Metal Scrap Workshop Different metal scrap pieces were that from that we had given task to create an abstract sclupture. For that the process goes likeI. Sketch the abstract idea II. 3D sketch of that idea III. Take Scrap and do welding (welding machine, cutting, grinding) to create a sclupture.
