The story so far… Colin R Smith from Oldmeldrum Aberdeenshire started his rally career as recently as 2008. A steady first year saw the junior driver impress many with mature and consistent performances in his Peugeot 205 GTI. Fast forward to March 2009 and Colin is now paired with current co-driver; Craig Chapman. Colin and Craig won the first round of the Peugeot 205 Championship on the 21st of March 2009, since then their successes have gained a huge amount of momentum. After a hugely successful 2009 season in which Colin and Craig finished 2nd in both the Scottish Junior Rally Championship and 2nd in the Scottish Peugeot 205 Championship, the Scottish Junior team stepped up to International competition in late 2009. What started as a dream turned into reality when Colin and Craig rolled over the start line on the inaugural RACMSA „Rally of Scotland‟ in November 2009. The first ever Rally of Scotland is part of the prestigious Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) which covers many classic events across the globe including the Monte Carlo Rallye. Swapping their usual Peugeot 205 Challenge rally car for a full international specification Honda Civic Type-R, Colin and Craig proceeded to turn in their most remarkable performance yet. Having never driven the car until the night before the rally Colin and Craig battled hard for 3 days over Scotland‟s toughest forest stages. At the end of the fantastic event the junior team brought their car home 13th overall and most importantly 2nd in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge two wheel drive class. In addition to this, Colin and Craig also managed to finish ahead of all the ‘works’ Honda cars but one. Colin and Craig‟s successes have now secured them a drive on 4 rounds of the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge. Competing on 2 Italian rallies, 1 Belgian and their home rally in Scotland, Colin and Craig are determined to prove themselves at the highest level. Continuing their partnership with Euro Rallye and Andrew Wood Motorsport the team will score points for Honda in the IRC manufacturer‟s championship in 2010. Mentoring the team will be ex works driver, Ex Junior British Rally Team member and 2 times Scottish Rally Champion, Andrew Wood. With the knowledge and experience of European events, Andrew will be an invaluable asset to the team. Being the only Scottish rally crew to score manufacturer championship points since the late Colin McRae, Colin and Craig invite you to be part of a very exciting season in 2010. craig.chapman@moneyplan-it.co.uk

Sponsorship
So far in Colin and Craig‟s rally careers, much of their success is down to sponsorship, without it they would be unable to compete at their current level. The team understands that sponsorship has to be beneficial for the sponsor and team alike. Colin and Craig offer a variety of Sponsorship opportunities for all budgets wishing to get involved in the exciting world of International Rallying;
Options for Sponsorship
Corporate Hospitality – Competing in the IRC 2wd Cup, the team score points for the Honda marque in the manufacturer‟s championship. This allows us use of the Honda hospitality unit. The benefit to sponsors is that they can gain use of this fantastic facility during the rally event; this can be in the form of breakfast, lunch and dinner during the rally. It can also be used as a venue to entertain guest or clients as well as a point to keep up to date with the team‟s progress with live results. Employee Competition – For the best performing employee (this could be in the form of most sales per month, per quarter etc) they will win an all expenses paid trip with a partner to any of the IRC championship rounds that the team are competing in. This will include hotel accommodation, flights and the opportunity to spend the weekend with Scotland‟s most exciting rally team on an international rally. The benefits to the sponsor – will create competition between employees to achieve the best sales figures, therefore will increase profits. Will also create a feel good factor within the employee ensuring the employee remains loyal and hardworking in the future. Rally Experience day – Being a sponsor of the team opens up the opportunity of experiencing a passenger ride in a full blown international rally car. The team can provide a full day‟s entertainment for sponsors and their clients alike. There are many rally experience days available but none can offer the chance to experience the thrill of being a passenger in a current IRC rally car being driven by one of the sport‟s most exciting young talents. Customer Competition – For the highest amount of orders in a given month or quarter etc, the winning customer will win an all expenses trip as above for 2 people. The benefit for the sponsor will be that your clients/customers may be more inclined to place orders with you than another competitor. It may also create competition between clients; both of these elements will increase profits. Another benefit will be that it will ensure a feel good factor between the sponsor and client as the client will enjoy a fantastic weekend away and is more likely to continue a fantastic relationship with the sponsor. craig.chapman@moneyplan-it.co.uk

Use of car / drivers for exhibitions and corporate events – One of the benefits in sponsoring the team is that the teams International Honda rally car is available for display at any sponsors events, shows or seminars. This creates an interesting talking point as well as the opportunity to discuss rally experience days with clients. Car livery – Your company logo/branding can be displayed on the team‟s car. As the IRC is heavily publicised throughout the worldwide media it creates an avenue for the sponsors brand to be visible to millions of people. The biggest opportunity to sponsors is the IRC‟s live Eurosport coverage. No other form of motorsport receives as much live worldwide TV coverage as the IRC other than Formula One. Racewear and Teamwear livery – as above. In addition to the above points there is a fantastic opportunity for the sponsor to place their logo onto the driver‟s racesuits and teamwear. With many interviews taking place during the rally there is a great chance of Eurosport coverage for the sponsor. Advertising on website – We can offer advertising on our website for existing and new sponsors. We can also offer advertising for 3rd party advertisers looking to take advantage of our popular website.
As you can see there are a huge number of options available to any potential sponsor. Packages can be tailored to any requirement or budget.

Benefits in sponsorship
Essentially we would like to work with you to enable your company to reach out to new markets throughout Europe and further afield. We would like any sponsorship agreement to be a profitable experience for you in both the short and longer term. We understand that any sponsorship has to be beneficial for you whether it lead to direct business or raising the profile of your company/organisation. Sponsorship doesnâ€&#x;t just have to be in a financial form. There are many other areas we require help with which you may be able to provide; Competing on 4 IRC Events the team will require accommodation, fuel, flights, tyres, maintenance, team wear etc. If there is any area of this proposal which excites you, please take a moment to email or call us to discuss in more detail. We are more than happy to talk to anyone enthusiastic about our sport and welcomes young talent moving forward.
