Questions q Depth: Is the firebox recessed into the fireplace surround/face or is it flush with the fireplace surround/face? q Recessed q Flush Hearth: Is the hearth even with the bottom of the exposed black metal or below the exposed black metal? q Even q Below Damper Knob: Does your fireplace have a damper knob protruding out past the surface of the black metal? q No Damper Knob q Yes, there is a Damper Knob Louvers: Do you need to access any controls behind your louvers? If so, you may want to remove the original louvers before you install a ReFace because it will have it’s own louvers that will hide the internal parts. q No access needed q Access needed ZC or DV: If your firebox has louvers with a fixed glass panel, you have a Direct Vent (DV) fireplace and will need a DV ReFace.
