CLUB NEWS

Sporting Clays tournaments were cancelled in July and August, but yesterday we had 25 entrants. Jon Roberts is the new Sporting Clays Chairperson and I wish him well in his new duties. The last Trapshoot was wellattended given the heat this summer. Ten shooters shot 1,400 targets. Angel Estevez led the Singles with a lone 94, Alex Riera led the Handicap with an 84, and Dax Demena led the Doubles with a lone 88. The Skeet shoot saw only three of us shooting 50 targets each before the rains ended our day. Robert Vazquez led the day with a 49. I have not heard anything out of the Palm Beach club. Reports of the Sporting Clays ring have been positive. It is an inexpensive Sporting Clays alternative since the golf cart rental is only $7. Targets are also reasonably priced. As to Trap and Skeet, I have no information when this will become available. The shoot card is currently available on the Home page of the FTA website— Floridatrap.com. Also on the Home page is a link to the FTA Records. This is a compilation of the champions at the Florida State Shoot from 1916 to today. It also lists all of the Hall of Fame members, Yearly State Teams, Past Officers, and Champions for the Summer, Spring, Fall, and Hall of Fame championships. There are still some years missing. Hoping some of the trapshooters can fill in the missing holes. I am missing the Trap&Field issues for the year 2000. If you have those, I would like to borrow them to fill in that year. Regardless, it is nice to scroll through and see the history of Florida Trapshooting. See you at the club. Joe Loitz jloit@bellsouth.net 4
