Site Specific artwork developed under the Antarctic Project in January 2014 at the Antarctic Marambio and Esperanza scientific bases and Cerro Nevado Island. During a solar storm millions of tons of plasma with the strongest radiation is expelled, throughout the Solar System... ....and thus reaches us ...... almost imperceptibly, almost invisibly...Only in the future will the effect be known..... Balls, metallic, fluorescent and translucent fabrics were used. Visual narrative of stasis and movement ... Calm and power ... Straight Out Of Camera Photo Series.
Site Specific desarrollado en el marco del Proyecto Antártida, en enero de 2014 desde las bases Antárticas Marambio y Esperanza e isla Cerro Nevado.
Durante una tormenta solar, se expulsan y se expanden por todo el Sistema Solar millones de toneladas de plasma con la radiación más potente que se pudiese imaginar…..y así llega hasta nosotros……casi invisible, casi imperceptible…..Solo el tiempo dará cuenta de lo sucedido….. Balones, telas metalizadas, fluorescentes y traslúcidas. movimiento… Calma y potencia… Serie de fotografías y video en toma directa.

Nina Colosi, Fundadora y Directora creativa del Streaming Museum, fundado en 2008 para la producción y presentación de obras y exhibiciones en los siete continentes que fueron vistas por millones de personas en lugares públicos, en espacios culturales asociados y en StreamingMuseum.org. Entre otros programas, produjo y curó el Project Room for New Media and Performing Arts en el Chelsea Art Museum de Nueva York (2003-2010) y “Digital Art @Google”, una serie de exhibiciones y programas públicos en la sede de Google de la ciudad de Nueva York. En los comienzos de su carrera, Colosi fue una galardonada compositora de música electrónica, habiéndose graduado con un Master de la Manhattan School of Music de Nueva York. Es miembro del World Council of Peoples de las Naciones Unidas.

Solar Storm La serie de obras de Andrea Juan, “Solar Storm” 2014, surgió del proceso creativo de sus experiencias durante sus varias visitas a la Antártida que comenzaron en 2005. El implacable poder del medio y su interacción con científicos produjo profundas impresiones subconscientes
de las que han estado fluyendo intensas reacciones emocionales e intelectuales que ella ha expresado a través de su obra en fotografía, video e instalaciones. Con colores fuertes y formas onduladas de materiales fluidos, el trabajo de Andrea Juan interactúa poética y metafóricamente con los vientos antárticos y el desierto de hielo. Su trabajo crea un puente
entre las conclusiones de las investigaciones científicas y el entendimiento emocional del Antropoceno.

Solar Storm Andrea Juan’s series of artworks, “Solar Storm” 2014, has emerged from the creative
processing of her experiences during many visits to Antarctica that began in 2005. The relentlessly powerful environment and her interaction with scientists have made deep subconscious impressions from which have been flowing intense emotional and intellectual reactions that she has expressed in photography, video and installation artworks. With strong
colors and undulating shapes of fluid materials, Juan’s art poetically and metaphorically interacts with the Antarctic winds and desert of ice. Andrea Juan es Licenciada en Artes Visuales egresada de la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes y del Instituto Universitario Nacional de Artes (UNA). Desde 1996 investigó sobre Gráfica No Tóxica con Fotopolímeros y desde el año 2000 es Profesora de Artes Visuales en la Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero. A partir del 2004 comenzó el "Proyecto Antártida" realizando video instalaciones y performances en el continente Antártico basadas en investigaciones científicas sobre la incidencia del cambio climático. Ha participando en diez campañas antárticas y se desempeña como Jefa de Proyectos Culturales de la Dirección Nacional del Antártico, Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de la República Argentina. Su obra se basa en investigaciones científicas y tiene un contenido reflexivo sobre el medio ambiente. Trabaja en las disciplinas de video, instalación, fotografía y obra gráfica. .
Publicó los libros “Getting Over” en el 2004, “Proyecto Antártida” en el 2006, “Sur Polar” en el 2008, Sur Polar II en 2010 y Sur Polar III en 2011. Realizó curadurías en Museos de México; Buenos Aires, Londres, Quebec, Brisbane y Melbourne.

She has a degree in Visual Arts from the National School of Fine Arts and the National University of Arts (UNA). Since 1996 Juan has been researching with Photopolymer in Non-Toxic printmaking and since 2000 she has been a Professor of Visual Arts at the National University of Tres de Febrero.
In 2004 she began the "Antarctica Project" making video installations and performances on the Antarctic continent based on scientific research related to the impact of climate change. She is the Head of Cultural Projects of National Antarctic Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina and has participated in ten Antarctic campaigns. Andrea Juan works in the disciplines of video, installation, photography and printmaking. Her work addresses issues of the environment. She published the book "Getting Over" in 2004, "Antarctica Project" in 2006, "South Polar" in 2008, South Polar II in 2010 and South Polar III in 2011. Juan has curated exhibitions in Mexico, Buenos Aires, London, Quebec, Brisbane and Melbourne Museums, among others.
