The splendid Selimiye Mosque, once the Gothic-style Cathedral of St Sofia, lords over the city with its twin minarets added by the Ottomans. During your free time you can cross the no-man’s land from north to south at the Ledras Street checkpoint, where hectic bazaar stalls give way to fancy boutique windows, Turkish signs morph into Greek script, and streetside chatter switches to different sounds.

Would you like to cool down in the waters of love and beauty? Then join this lovely boat cruise aboard the beautifully crafted traditional wooden boat that sails from Kyrenia’s harbour.
