Excursion Package with 4 excursions €175 per person CITY TOUR OF PORTO WITH WINE TASTING IN A WINE CELLAR
Fishermen, sailors, merchants and shipbuilders from Porto were involved in the voyages of Portuguese explorers. In the century, Porto gave its name to one of the noblest wines in the world: port wine, which must be tasted during a visit to a typical port wine cellar. Afterwards, discover the narrow streets and centuries old buildings as well as the city’s trademark, the Iron Bridge, built under the direction of Gustav Eiffel. From the cathedral on Penaventosa Hill you have a breathtaking view over the river. Equally unique is the view from the Pilar Monastery, located on a hill above the town of Vila Nova de Gaia.
EXCURSION TO THE MATEUS PALACE IN VILA REAL WITH ITS PARK-LIKE GARDEN
Between the 15th and 17th centuries, numerous members of the nobility settled in Vila Real. The main attraction of the town is Mateus Palace, the mansion of the last count of Vila Real. The baroque building is located in a lovingly park with bizarrely trimmed hedges and ancient trees. The gardens of the count belong to the most beautiful places in Europe. You will also enjoy the tour of the palace City tour of Würzburg with residence.
EXCURSION TO CASTELO RODRIGO, WITH ITS HISTORIC CASTLE RUINS
Come with us to Castelo Rodrigo, one of the 12 historic parishes of Portugal, about 670 meters above sea level. For centuries Jews, Arabs and Christians lived here peacefully together. Because of the almond trees the medieval town is known as “the white town”. Visit with us the ruins of the castle and the palace, wander through the cobblestone streets and discover 16th century facades and window ornaments in the famous Manuelino style.
EXCURSION TO THE PILGRIMAGE TOWN OF LAMEGO
Lamego originated in the Portuguese Baroque period. The Saint of Remedies found his last resting place in Lamego. If you like, you can walk down some 600 steps from the pilgrimage site to the town on the flight of steps. There, the Gothic cathedral and the local museum with an impressive collection of paintings are particularly worth seeing. Lamego is also known for various specialties: smoked ham, Bola de Lamego (bread filled with smoked ham), smoked kid and the sparkling wine Raposeira.
