Students who successfully complete the highest level of the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program will be admitted to undergraduate studies without a written language examination. For students who are at an advanced level in English language, a University Bridging Program (UBP) is offered. Students may earn up to 6 credit hours toward their Saint Mary’s degree for UBP and higher level EAP coursework. Please contact The Language Centre for more information at language@smu.ca.

Welcome to Saint Mary’s Established in 1802, Saint Mary’s is more than a university. It’s a community that’s small enough to make you feel at home, yet large enough to provide early access to undergraduate research and rich course offerings. It’s a place where one-on-one access to professors is something you can count on. With students from over 115 countries, it’s one of Canada’s most diverse student populations. In keeping with our motto, Age Quod Agis—Do What You Do, we have achieved academic excellence. All academic programs are accredited and recognized internationally to ensure students have worldwide access to employment and graduate studies. Most importantly, it’s a world of opportunity in just one city block. We can’t wait to show you around.
