It all started at the midnight time, Shelbert couldn’t sleep so went out for a slime. Out of the stars came a UFO, Started sucking things up—there was no place to go! Up went the world treasure and off into the night, This is not going to be good when all snails slime into the light.

Everyone is speechless; no one knows what to say, Our greatest treasure just flew away! Shelbert’s the one who really saw what happened, Scared him so bad he fainted and his face needed slappin’! This treasure means a lot—it’s what keeps all the peace, If we don’t get it back, trouble could be unleashed.

4

Some snails are mad, most are sad, I would say this is extremely bad! Try to say something you’ll have to shout, Out of control—these snails need a time out! Let’s solve this problem before we run out of time, I know what to do—CALL DR. SLIMESTEIN!

5

6

Slimestein’s ideas are brighter than the sun, He makes normal seem strange and strange seem fun. Laboratory is open and we slime through the door, That crazy ole’ coot was cookin’ up s’mores!

7

Doc says, “Time to slime together and get back on track, Let’s all build a rocket and go get it back!”

8

We all chipped in and emptied out our pockets, And bought ourselves a Big Bang Boom Rocket. Only 6,000 pieces—what were we thinkin’? Time this job is done, we’ll all be stinkin’! Working our tails off with our feelings still sad, We all came up with a great little Launchpad.

Astroslugs are in and we locked up the latch, Launch day is here; time to light up the match! Run for your life and don’t be a slacker, Just found out we used too many mini crackers! It’s gonna be big, a bang bigger than boom, If anyone gets hurt, just slime to the mush-room.

The blast was so loud—heard around the world, All kinds of weird things started to hurl. Forks, bottles, rubber ducks were all flying by, You might want to duck or get a pie in the eye! Rocket-ship Slime Dust is on its way! Hope Shelbert and the brave crew can save the day.

14

15

Snails of the World, Astroslugs were all picked, This won’t be much fun because they already look sick. Looking very different but are really the same, Shades of every color with strange-sounding names. We all left our homes, families, and friends, Be glad when this is over and comes to an end.

16

The vastness of space can make you feel small, But that’s nothing different—we’re all only an inch tall! Cruising along at a million miles an hour, Getting close to that planet, it’s time to reduce power. Everyone is quiet and not very jolly, Hope this place is friendly with no creepy crawlies.

17

18

WOW! This planet looks hot, But for a place to land, I’m afraid there’s not. As we fly over Lavababies from a safe place above, Time to switch our rocket into an underwater sub. Splash into the water and see what’s down there, Hope there’s not any monsters to give us a scare!

19

20

Closer to the water we might have made a mistake, Weird things are everywhere, but now it’s too late! Going in for a swim and there’s no turning back, Glad I brought monster repellant in my trusty ole’ backpack! This is gonna be weird, wetter wilder than wet, If we all survive this, I don’t think we’ll ever forget!

21

22

Under the water all kinds of strange fish, The sooner we leave here is everyone’s wish. Don’t slow down, just keep moving through, Hope escargot is not on the menu. Wrong side of this planet, we need to go for a ride, Drill a hole through the middle and pop out the other side!

23

24

25

From submarine to drilling machine, little Slime Dust keeps working, To find our treasure, we’ll just have to keep looking. Drilling through the planet and into a deep, dark cave, Crystal-kissin’ Boogie Bats are everywhere, I hope they behave! One kissed our ship and likes what she found, Time to get out of this cave and get ourselves above ground!

26

Blasting out of the rocks to everyone’s surprise, They weren’t expecting us by the look in their eyes. We are as strange to them as they are to us, Shelbert will meet them as soon as we settle the dust. I have a feeling we are close to our prize, There’s the same flying saucer that came out of the sky.

27

28

Shelbert slimed out and let out a shout, “Declaration of Slime Nation is what this is about!” You took what is ours and flew fast out of sight, We’ve all been sad since that dark, starry night. Zoo Bopp the leader said, “Sorry, as you would come to expect, We love the way snails treat each other, with kindness and respect.

29

We wanted that for our planet as far as we all may roam, We love all snails—now go in peace, and take your treasure home.

30

31

It was a long trip back and we all feel fine, Got what we went for and left nothing else behind. Cruisin’ along with no major mistakes, Until we found out we don’t have any breaks! This could be bad if we don’t slow down, Looks like we’re headin’ straight into town!

32

Came blasting through town at the speed of sound, This is not going to be good if we can’t slow down. Kept trying to stop but all for no good, We didn’t miss anything in that neighborhood! Heading straight to the bakery, this could get icky, With all that frosting, it can really get sticky.

33

34

35

I don’t know, but I’ve been told, This is how donuts get their holes. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and cherry, We went through all the flavors, even blueberry! That last donut made us start to slowdown, Not a minute too soon—yup, we are heading back into town.

36

37

Crashing someone’s bathroom while they were brushing their teeth, One snail on the toilet—knocked him right off the seat! That slowed us down a lot coming in for a landing, Looking back at the town, we sure didn’t leave much standing. Finally stopped with our heads still humming, No way those fortune tellers could predict us coming.

38

39

Little Shelbert is our hero and has advice for us all, There’s not a problem on earth that can’t really be solved. Just keep working hard and never give in, And don’t forget to play and throw in a few grins. Deal with what matters and forget all the rest, The little things in life are always the best.

40

The end. Snails rule. 41
