"Got into 190e ownership by accident but fell in love straightaway. Had a few 16v models - one was featured on an early Wheeler Dealers - another was a Mosselman turbo converted car I pieced together which was in Mercedes Enthusiast around 2008.
Got the current one around 2008/9 after a short hiatus from the model. Bought as a completely stock 16v in original but poor condition. Went through the mechanicals slowly upgrading as I went and following a small fender-bender managed to wangle a full repaint in around 2014.
Around the same time came engine upgrades and the smooth engine bay - first with bike carbs and Megajolt. Then Webber 48s - they stayed quite a while. Around 2016/7 I started the widebody conversion with tubbed front and rear arches and the EVO1 bodykit. 2018 I modified the bodykit to make it a little wider and rebuilt the OZ Futuras wider to match.
Around 2020/21 I had some engine problems and ended up going to town with a full rebuild with forged internals, cams, etc - couldn't bring myself to put the Webbers back on so upgraded to AT Power ITB's and a ME221 ECU which is pretty much the guise it's in now. Took a couple of years to get the engine built, back in the bay and all rolling roaded but its been pretty good since then. Around 20% more HP and torque than stock.
2024 We did a huge roadtrip to Croatia - no problems to report. 2025 we're planning something similar plus Poland for Ultrace."
