Print surfaces
Print surfaces created by taking impressions of different shaped wire fences around us. The surface on top left is inspired by the hexagonal structure of a beehive. There are two different prints combined to create this surface. The small hexagonal shaped print was created by taking impressions of wire fence on paper and later on repeated on the software and then on the screen, and the bigger hexagons were printed using paper cutouts on a blank screen.

Woven structures
Exploring with basic weaves like plain weave, twill, satin, honeycomb etc. The colours and textures are inspired from different elements around us, for example the surfaces on the top are inspired from the texture and colours of bitter gourd (karela), and below are surfaces created from the picture of a sunset.
Š SNEHA GHOSH | 2012 | NID
Woven structures
Explorations with advanced fabric structures like extra warp, extra weft, back fabric, leno, double cloth, terry etc.

Project 1.
Brief of the project This project was based on exploring and experimenting different fabric constructions/design. The collection is inspired by feathers. The texture and the structure of feather is what is have tried to bring out in my explorations.

Project 1.
There are a variety of techniques that I have used for the whole collection which include surface constructions like quilting, dyeing, stitching and edge finishing.

Project 2.

Project 3.
Need for dividers- individual space for each person (e.g.- Craft displays)
Need for wall like structures - threads to hang the exhibits are visible
Brief of the project To create a modular structure, that divides space and also provides more options for putting up a display aesthetically, easily, and effectively. Different possibilities of dividing the space using the screen. It can be used to make separate stalls or block an area if the area required for the exhibit is less Š SNEHA GHOSH | 2012 | NID
Project 3.
Removable metal hooks for the panels to be suspended from the roof.
Holes to hang frames / exhibits from the panels
Concept
Representation of the panels , showing its distance from the ground and different possibilities to hang and its interaction with the space
The idea was to create light-weight panels which would replace the soft boards .These would be suspended from the roof. The end product should be such that it can have infinite number of possibilities in terms of dividing a space and putting up a display.
Š SNEHA GHOSH | 2012 | NID
Project 3.
Poly carbonate strips were woven with the cotton yarns to provide strength to the panels , so that heavy frames or exhibits could be hanged from them.
Exploration Weaving seemed to be the right technique to explore for the purpose as it was faster, less texture on the fabric was achievable ,holds and hides the rigid strip, without closing off the holes.

Project 4.
Brief of the project Project based on exploring different types of joinery with different materials and available products. I have used saree pins in different ways to create a belt. Also joineries explored with fabrics to create a installation.
Š SNEHA GHOSH | 2012 | NID
Project 4.
As my final product I created a recycled paper bag using small paper coils made from old newspaper and magazines and joined with 1.5 mm aluminium wire. While making this bag I made sure that I use more bright coloured papers to create a colourful composition.
