01.TAWAZUN LOCATION - Dubai, United Arab Emirates RESPONSIBILITIES - Concept development, architectural design, 3D Modelling, Social media management, Marketing, Communication (Team Project) ABOUT - The Tawazun House stems from the philosophy of balance. It works on finding the desirable outcome out of two opposing extremes, that is, between Passive Design and Active Technologies. The element of balance not only brings about harmony with respect to design but also aims to provide a space that is deeply connected to the user’s values and beliefs as an individual. The approach to the layout of spaces is people centric, enabling the prototype to be custom-fit to meet different end user needs. Adding on to this, a systematic integration of technology will enable the home to be resource efficient while catering to its occupant’s needs. The architectural design thus takes on a simplistic, direct approach that follows critical regionalist principles to achieve our design objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES - Design Revisions, Concept Modelling, Presentation Drawings, Visualizations (Team Project) ABOUT - The design was a challenge since the site had a 20m level difference between the front & rear roads. The chancery and cultural centre were located towards the front whereas access to the residential building was planned from the rear road, and the residences steer clear of the roof of chancery so as to provide uninterrupted views of the ocean beyond.

KEY PLAN OF URBAN INTERVENTIONS

LOCATION - Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India

Mehrangarh Fort Viewing Deck Street Rejuvenation via Art

RESPONSIBILITIES - Urban Analysis, Design Ideation, Presentation Drawings, Visualizations (Team Project) ABOUT - Available data on Jodhpur was limited due to which a 3 day study was conducted within the city to help us understand its history and development journey. The site chosen for our urban intervention was within the old city, also famous as the “Blue City”. The key issues that came up during our study around which our proposal was centered were 1. Street congestion 2. Lack of maintenace of historic sites 3. Improper utilization of space The creation of a tourist route will increase the number of tourists as a result of which, to cater to these tourists the historic structures and sites will have to be maintained adequately. The tourist route encourages pedestrians and the use of cycles to reduce the congestion on the streets. The route includes a combination of historically important sites, monuments and local bazaars to give people a glimpse into the history and culture of this city. Increase in tourism will also result in creating more employment opportunites.
