THE CLIENT Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing ministry that operates worldwide. They have more than 1,400 local affiliates in the US and more than 70 national organizations around the world. Habitat for Humanity appeals to many individuals because it gives volunteers an experience they will never forget. It delivers joy to be able to assist other people and build a shelter for them. Their mission is “seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope”. Habitat for Humanity: Coastal Empire is moving into a new facility in order to expand their restore office and retail floor. From understanding their identity and history, the design concept takes their story into consideration along with certain client requirements. The project typology is split into three sections: retail, office, and service. The retail space is primarily organized into four categories: architecture (consisting of doors, windows, and building materials), flooring, appliances and equiptment, and furniture and décor. Visual and acoustical privacy are evident throughout the project due to the extensive program within the space. Project location: 701 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Savannah, GA 31401

Habitat for Humanity resonates around the world, spreading to all - regaining and unifying lost hope. The Habitat for Humanity Restore design is inspired by the idea of a community that draws in together and branches out. Through the path, it reminds us about the history of Habitat, as it is anchored through every aspect. The showrooms are off centered, which eventually diverge into four categories: furniture, architecture, equiptment, and flooring. It is the essence of something that grows as it spreads and impacts on people, reflecting on their lives.
