Driven by the long-time interest in complex biological systems, structure, skin I have created this model which could be named as ‘The Living Skin’. The controls and the association of model elements may represent structural loads, angles, rotation or a simply change in dimensions. There is a central cluster of 3 main components which on their way create by using cenre-point and side connections the whole bigger chain and the final population. Each branch is organized on a modular grid, to be repeated and adapted according to location. What if a building could respond, in real time, to the movement of people, the weather, etc. The concept is to start thinking beyond facades and start seeing architecture as ‘a living skin’. Texture, tactility, and visual interest are the primary drivers for the design. Responsiveness can be observed at various scales and in various elements of the whole system, within architectural realm.
