PRESENT
November 29th - December 31st Collective Giving = Bigger Impact
givebacktahoe.org
Ready for a third year of gracious giving. To know Tahoe and Truckee is to know authentic love of place. Over the years, our community has grown as it attracts people and families who simply want to be here. We create lives built on the things that make a person whole and fulfilled: time with family, time outdoors, and a feeling of connection. We work together to offer our community members the things we need most, be it the arts, music, adventure, a dog sitter, or a helping hand when times are tough. A huge part of what makes life here so fantastic is our nonprofit community. Some of our nonprofits are large, and others are driven by only one or two people. Together, though, they strive to take care of our children, our elders, our environment, and our infrastructure. The Giving Guide began in 2014 with the purpose of elevating the missions of our nonprofits, to give them a platform to be heard and seen for all their hard work, and to connect them with like-minded philanthropists who believe in what they are doing. While our hopes were big, we had no idea this campaign could have such a significant impact. Now in our third year, we’ve learned how valuable this program is in supporting nonprofits and their year-end campaigns, as well as in drawing our community members and visitors even closer. This year, we hope to continue to manifest greater awareness of our nonprofits and to connect those who want to give back to the causes in which they most believe. The Giving Guide campaign is a shining example of this type of collaborative, community leadership. For all its dimensions, it takes many partners to pull this campaign off: the donors who provide the matching challenge grant dollars, the sponsors of the printed guide, and the volunteers, advocates, and board members who carry the campaign beyond the newspaper and into social media and across broad networks. Our local radio station 101.5 KTKE will reach even more of our community members who are connected through the station and app to remind those down the hill and farther away that they are very much a part of our community. It takes all of us to raise up this important work and drive more resources and awareness to the needs and opportunities in our community. Sincerely, Ben, Kevin, and Stacy

Nonprofit organizations for
health & Human services To serve with humility and generosity, with grace and integrity- this is a call to arms for the organizations who care for our children, families, elderly, and neighbors in need. When those who live here or are just passing through find themselves in places of vulnerability or fear, hunger or scarcity, loneliness or injustice, what they need is a helping hand. In our small community, we must always raise up compassion and generosity, and support those who put the well-being of others on the forefront of their priorities. When we honor our humanity and revere kindness, our entire community benefits.

animal welfare In Tahoe, some of our favorite neighbors greet us on four legs. Greeting us on trails, wagging hello outside shops, and snoozing in office corners, animals are woven into the fabric of our community. Many of us point to our local shelters when asked where we adopted, where our child volunteers, or where our puppy training took place. This shared love of animals encourages our local humane societies to continue the hard work of rescuing pets. While awaiting adoption, animals need food, medical care, and healthy socialization. Your generosity gives these creatures a loving place to rest and heal until they’re safe in their forever home.
